Winbind authentication over transitive trusts between multiple W2k3 Domains
Hallo, we use Samba 3.0.22 with MIT Kerberos and winbind on Ubuntu edgy in a Windows2003 ADS enviroment. Everything works fine like kinit, net ads join, getting the Domain accounts from the own and other domains, but one important thing fails - obviously winbind cannot resolve name to sid, when the account is in another domain, where is only a transitive trust, not a direct. Lets say there

Same Box, Moved install to different drive, now get Connection failure: Connection refused??
Arjen, All, I need help unwrapping my head from around the problem of getting nut running on the same machine it runs fine with on another drive!! Sound easy -- not here :) I have network-ups-tools 2.4.1-2 on two servers. On one server I had a raid drive fail (which I'm still booting from and running nut on just fine). I bought a second pair of drives to establish a new array in the

2.4.1 Voltages are Great for CP1000AVRLCD, but usbfs messages in logs (a lot)
Arjen, all, Just dropping a note on two points. First, Voltages are perfect in 2.4.1 for the Cyberpower ups's. Glad to see I'm not pushing 20+ any more: http://www.3111skyline.com/nut/ Second, even though the changes to where the monitor lines go in the configs and changes from ACCEPT, etc.. to LISTEN are fairly old now, the documentation for setting up monitoring for multiple UPSs

update to cifs-mount-3.2.0-24.1.122 from .121 broke mount.cifs
Jerry, Jeremy, et. al. Last night's upgrade from cifs-mount-3.2.0-24.1.121 to cifs-mount-3.2.0-24.1.122 on a openSuSE 10.3 x86_64 machine broke mount -t cifs. Now attempting to mount shares results in the following: 11:10 alchemy/home/david/bin] # mount.cifs -v //nirvana/david /mnt/nirvana-david -o username=david,uid=1000,password=notmypass parsing options:

OT: DMARC / DKIM Failure Reports
Hi guys, when I send e-mails to CentOS mailing list <centos at centos.org>, I received DMARC / DKIM failure reports. Is it possible to solve this problem and if so how? This is the first report: This is an email abuse report for an email message received from IP 208.100.23.70 on Tue, 17 Sep 2019 15:56:25 +0200. The message below did not meet the sending domain's DMARC policy. For

AARGH! I can't make rsync not copy dirs with --files-from option
Listmates I'm running rsync 3.02 and I have a simple thing I'm trying to do, but rsync won't let me do it. What I'm trying to do is consolidate saved rpms on openSuSE 11.0 to a central server for local updates. openSuSE saves the rpms in: /var/cache/zypp/packages/<repository name> I have written a script that parses all the file names and creates temp files that holds

smbd to authenticate via pam modules
Hi, I have a simple setup with pam modules to use kerberos authentication (heimdal kdc) for various services, i.e. ssh/scp/sftp, ftp and others. I would like to connect my standalone smbd (no AD membership) to this system, but have problems to force smbd to use pam. local smbpasswd works spnego + kerberos works with a ticket but pam modules are not accessed at all In my test setup, local samba

rsync 2.4.7pre1 hangs?
I think this version still hangs when doing a large (2GB) local transfer. If anybody else can confirm or deny this that would be great. C-c and restart fixes it. I will look at Wayne's alternative to tridge's patch to see if that fixes it. Also, my attempt to standardize socklen_t seems to have broken UNICOS and HP/UX. Albert gave a good suggestion to fix that which I will try out

Cray patch against openssh-SNAP-20010802
Significant changes since last patch. Deleted patches to packet.c and channel.c - not needed. Add small patch to sshd.c and openbsd/ssh-cray.c to disable cray process privileges. Depending on how a cray unicos/unicosmk system is configured user could su to root without a password with out this mod. Add no_sco flag to noop check for -lrpc which assumes that their was a -lyp library.
