[patch] NFSv4/ZFS ACLs
This is a PoC patch for NFSv4/ZFS ACLs. The objective of the patch is that rsync --acls support NFSv4/ZFS ACLs without requiring a new command line option NFSv4 ACLs can't be represented using POSIX draft ACLs, if an NFSv4 ACL is present a separate POSIX draft ACL will not be present and there are new APIs to access NFSv4 ACLs. So we need to distinguish between NFSv4 ACLs and POSIX ACLs in

test failed with acl patch
In the mandriva rpm of rsync, we apply for our rpm the acl patch in the patches directory. I am trying to update our rpm to rsync 2.6.6 but one of the test failed with this patch. It seems to be a minor problem, but can you have a look ? Thanks by advance. Following the message (a bit long): ----- itemize log follows Testing for symlinks using 'test -h' +

Rsync 2.6.9pre2 tries to read ACLs of nonexistent files
Dear rsync people, Today I tried to back up my computer using rsnapshot with the RPM version of rsync-acl 2.6.9pre1 that I built. I tried twice, and both times, rsync encountered some kind of assertion failure. I was trying to reproduce the crash with rsync-acl 2.6.9pre2 and noticed a different bug (described below); when I have a chance, I will go back and investigate the crash further. Rsync

ACLs fail in 3.0.23d
Whenever I try to read or modify ACLs from my Windows 2000 PDC, my Samba Domain Member Server (Security = ADS) does not allow setting ACLs, nor does it display the existing ACLs. - I have setup ACLs in my Kernel - I have translated and installed libacl and libattr - I can see and modify ACLs with getfacl and setfacl. - I have translated Samba 3.0.23d with --with-acl-support=yes - I have enabled

Re-2: rid_idmap problem
That's good, but i believe that the "allow trusted domains" must be set to "No" when using idmap_rid backend. still ACL bug in 3.0.14a
Sparc Solaris / UFS file system. I have some ACL's set up for a handful of users and its all worked flawlessly with every incarnation of Samba I've used over the past couple years, which would be most. Last Friday evening I upgraded from 3.0.11 to 3.0.13 and some of the users I have some ACL's set up for promptly found Monday that they couldn't save new Excel files, they'd be

--with-acl-support
Dear Andrew Tridgell, i cant compile the 2.2.1-9 package --with-acl-support, beacuse HAVE_SYS_ACL_H has wrong settings somewhere. i cant fix the bug, i just comment out the #ifdef HAVE_SYS_ACL_H line in the source/include/includes.h for a (i hope) good compilation. i use acl 1.1.2 from sgi, and the latest debian woody packages. Debugging Samba4 - application sometimes fails because files are invisible/gone
Hello Samba list, we have a problem that our proprietary application sometimes can't find files on our samba share. I'm hoping for some help on this list. Our setup is two ADs as replicated domain Controller ( Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS, Version 4.1.17-SerNet-Ubuntu-10.precise) and several domain member as file servers and mixed clients (~40 x Win7, Ubuntu and OSX). The ADs use internal DNS.

Problems with Excel & MS Word files (still)
Problem is apparently with locking issues, disabled oplocks in the [general] section, and the problem actually got worse... Here's what happens: User-A part of group1, opens Excel file off of share, saves, exits... User-B (or even User-A for that matter) tries to re-open same file, get error stating it's locked and can only open for read-only access... Both users in the same group, and

[BUG] clear ACL-s on destination
Destroy ACL-s on destination when no ACL-s differens between source and destination. Bug is somehow related with function send_file_name() called with negative file descriptor f. There is no such bug in 2.6.9 version, but there options "-X -A --deleted" can't be used (we have "Internal error: wrong write used in receiver."). If I fix this, avoid calling send_acl() &
