Hi All,
I have recently installed CentOS 6.3 with QEMU+KVM for Virtualization.
I have successfully created a Windows 2003 VM with 4GB of RAM. The host
server is an HP ML350 G8 with 24GB RAM and 24 cores. Details of one of
the cores is shown below:

Haswell 4770 misidentified as Sandy Bridge
Hi,
I'm running libvert on a Debian 7 system. I have upgraded libvert and qemu
from source (v1.06 and 1.5.0 respectively) and the problem persists. The
guest OS is also a Debian 7 system running a non-SMP kernel. The error
message from virt-manager is
Error starting domain: unsupported configuration: guest and host CPU are

'virsh capabilities' on Debian Wheezy-amd64 reports different cpu to Wheezy-i386 (on same hardware)
Hi
On a range of Dell servers containing Intel 64bit processors, 'virsh
capabilities' reports the cpu differently on Debian Wheezy-amd64 and
Wheezy-i386. The results given by the Wheezy-i386 version seem very
wrong (since n270 is an Atom processor). Apart from architecture, the
package versions of libvirt-bin are identical: 1.2.1-1~bpo70+1.
/usr/share/libvirt/cpu_map.xml files are

lastest xen unstable crash
Hi everyone,
I was trying to build a new machine but the system keeps rebooting.
I used the lasted unstable version from xen-unstable.hg.
I have tried with Fedora 16 (kernel 3.3.0-8) and Xubuntu 11.10 (3.0.0.17-generic).
The output to my serial console is attached.
Cheers,
Francisco

CentOS 6 / Intel CPU support
https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/intel
shows mainly Xeon CPUs. What about
Intel Core i7-6700 Quad-Core Skylake
has the current EL6 variant support for it?
Any experience? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

problems with intel S5000VSA board and hvm
Hi @ll,
i use an intel S5000VSA server board with two xeon cpus. I installed a
debian squeeze amd64 system with debian xen and qemu packages.
Before i installed xen i check out successfully the virtualization flag
of cpus by
grep "vmx" /proc/cpuinfo
After installation of xen
(http://wiki.debian.org/Xen#Installation_on_squeeze) i can not run a hvm
domu.
xm dmesg | grep -i vmx

Opus 1.1.1 is out!
Hi everyone,
After much waiting, Opus 1.1.1 is finally here. The main changes are:
- x86 SSE, SSE2 and SSE4.1 optimizations contributed by Cisco,
- MIPS optimizations contributed by Imagination Technologies,
- ARM Neon optimizations contributed by Linaro and ARM,
- many architecture-independent optimizations,
- memory footprint reductions, and
- several minor bug fixes.

Re: LibVirt query CPU Model support and restore operation
hi,
yes we are talking about same host here.
You could've just used -cpu host-model-only
>> I dont want to host model ( it is working with host model) .
AS KVM seems to allow support Haswell with native commands . Does this mean
in my case KVM is allowing software emulated cpu model.
Can libvirt allow software-emulated for non host model ? if yes how .
thanks

2.6.30.1 dom0 Xen patches
I''ve been trying for several days to get a xen dom0 booting as
described on Boris Derzhavets blog.
I have been able to boot Jeremy Fitzhardinge''s pv_ops kernel under
xen, but my X server wouldn''t start so I''ve been trying to get Andrew
Lyon''s rebased opensuse patches to work.
I have asked for help in the freenode ##xen channel but they
