Random selection from a subsample
Dear Mailing List
I have a data set (data4) consisting of a number of factors and a response variable. I wish to randomly sample from a combination of two of those factors (GIS_station and Distance_code2) and return a new dataframe containing the original data structure (i.e. all the columns) but only containing the randomly selected rows. The number of rows in each combination of GIS_station

[PATCHv2] inspect: get windows drive letters for GPT disks.
This patch updates the guestfs_inspect_get_drive_mappings API call to
also return drive letters for GPT paritions. Previously this worked
only for MBR partitions. This is achieved by matching the GPT partition
GUID with the info stored in the blob from
HKLM\SYSTEM\MountedDevices\DosDevices keys. For GPT partions this blob
contains a "DMIO:ID:" prefix followed by a 16 byte binary GUID.

barplot help needed
hello,
I would like to create the following barplot:
I have 4 different data sets (same length + stddev for each data point)
data1
sd1
data2
sd2
data3
sd3
data4
sd4
now, I'd like to plot in the following way:
data1[1],data2[1],data3[1],data4[1] with it's sd-values side-by-side at
one x-axis label (named "position 1") and each bar in different colors.

this should be simple, but cannot figure it out. I am trying to subset a data.frame like this:

How to use the paste function to create an already used variable
Hi there,
I have the following problem
Four data frames exist:
data1
data2
data3
data4
Now I want to write a loop and temporarily store the data1, data2,
data3, data4 in a variable called data.
I tried the following...
for (i in 1:4) {
Data <- paste("data",i,sep="")
...
..
}
but it doesn't function. I think the problem is the definition of the
mode of the pasted

PHI nodes for atomic variables
Hi everyone,
I want to track the def-use chain for atomic variables.
However, it seems that LLVM will not generate PHI nodes for atomic
variables.
I present the generated LLVM bytecode for the next code snippet as follow.
I found that it only generated PHI node (*%8 = phi i32 [ %4, %3 ], [ %6, %5
]*) for non-atomic variable 'data2' but not for atomic variable x? Why?
With PHI node

PHI nodes for atomic variables
Thanks for your explanation.
Do you mean that LLVM will not maintain the def-use chain for atomic
variables?
So it is impossible to directly catch the fact that the load of x at the
statement 'data1 = x; ' dependents on data4 (because of the statement
x=data4 )?
If I want to get such information, may be the only solution is to traverse
all the predecessors of the statement 'data1 =

It is not a variable at the LLVM level.
At the source level, it is a variable.
At the LLVM IR level, it is lowered into memory operations.

t.test using RSPerl
Hi,
I've just started using R and RSPerl. I have some code as follows:
&R::initR("--no-save");
&R::call("t.test", (\@array1, \@array2));
where @array1 and @array2 are both 1-dimensional arrays in Perl having 54675 elements each. On execution the output is as follows:
Calling R function name `t.test', # arguments: 3

PHI nodes for atomic variables
Dear Daniel Berlin,
I just tried MemorySSA analysis and get the next IR.
However, I feel confused by the result.
Specifically, why instruction *%3* relates to a *MemoryDef*. According to
my understanding,
I think *%3* should be related to a *MemoryUse*, right?

compiling samba for ubuntu 12.4 lts
Hi,
I'm trying to create a samba4.0.1-package for ubuntu12.4. It seems
as if I've succeeded to resolve the dependencies and everything is
compiling and linking just fine until it switches to the source4
directory. There I always get these kerberos/heimdal-related linker-errors:

Problem with long number (from character to numeric class)
Hello,
I have a text file with one column containing long number but stored as
string.
I download the file with read.table (and colClass) and the first row of this
column is :
"095842087016731010"
As I need to make some calculations with these numbers, I tried to convert
them using as.numeric.
But then I get
as.numeric("095842087016731010")
95842087016731008
I understand

Constructing dummy variables for months for a time series object
I have a TS of monthly observations.

Now I want to make 11 dummy variables indicating months. Therefore I did followings :
For Jan :
rep(c(rep(0,0), 1, rep(0, 11)), 17)
For Feb :
rep(c(rep(0,1), 1, rep(0, 10)), 17)

Poor performance with shard
Hey everyone!
I have deployed gluster on 3 nodes with 4 SSDs each and 10Gb Ethernet
connection.
The storage is configured with 3 gluster volumes, every volume has 12
bricks (4 bricks on every server, 1 per ssd in the server).
With the 'features.shard' off option my writing speed (using the 'dd'
command) is approximately 250 Mbs and when the feature is on the writing
speed is
