What ruby/rails componet do I need?
I stole a script from the archives which shows how to launch an https
version of webrick. However I am getting an error that indicates that
my ruby/rails isntallation is missing a component to support ssl as
called from webrick. The script line in question is:
6 require ''webrick/https''

signo no importa.
Así pues, el signo de cada

Efectivamente. Puedes cambiar el signo de todos los valores de la
segunda componente, por ejemplo al hacer un gráfico de dispersión.
No creo que se pueda hacer directamente en la función.

Question on approximations of full logistic regression model
Hi,
I am trying to construct a logistic regression model from my data (104
patients and 25 events). I build a full model consisting of five
predictors with the use of penalization by rms package (lrm, pentrace
etc) because of events per variable issue. Then, I tried to approximate
the full model by step-down technique predicting L from all of the
componet variables using ordinary least squares

name ONLY one column
Hi R-users
I can not change the name of one column only of my matrix.
my_matrix <- matrix (1:12,ncol=3)
colnames(my_matrix)[1] <- 'myname'
Error in dimnames(x) <- dn :

Matrix to "database" -- best practices/efficiency?
I have a matrix of, say, M and N dimensions:
my_matrix=matrix(c(1:60),nrow=6,ncol=10)
I have two "id" vectors corresponding to the rows and columns, e.g.:
id_m=seq(10,60,by=10)
id_n=seq(100,1000,by=100)
I would like to create a "proper" database (let's say a data.frame for
this example -- i'm going to be loading these into an SQLite database,
but we'll leave

I am running the following code in RStudio, and I keep on getting an error message that says: "Error in plot.new() : figure margins too large"
Is there something that I am doing wrong?

Hi,
I never use the components directory. Can I just delete it or will
Rails really miss it?
Thanks,

How to extract the variance componets from lme
Here is a piece of code fitting a model to a (part) of a dataset, just
for
illustration. I can extract the random interaction and the residual
variance
in group meth==1 using VarCorr, but how do I get the other residual
variance?
Is there any way to get the other variances in numerical form directly -
it
seems a litte contraintuitive to use "as.numeric" when extracting
estimates,

Printing to screen a matrix or data.frame in one chunk (not splitting columns)
Hello,
I saw this nice trick I want to replicate but I lost the source and I hope
one of you can point me to the solution. My problem is that I don't know
the correct words to query this.
When I print to screen a matrix or data.frame the columns are split and
printed below the previous ones; even though I have plenty of screen left.
E.g.,
> my_matrix = matrix(runif(30),nrow=3,ncol=10)

How to save heatmap as image or pdf
Hello Everyone,
I am using R for creating heatmap from a square matrix. Below is my script
to do so
my_map <- read.csv("Desktop/input.csv", sep=",")
my_matrix <- data.matrix(my_map)
my_heatmap <- heatmap(my_matrix, Rowv=NA, Colv=NA, col = cm.colors(256),
scale="column", margins=c(5,10))
I get a beautiful plot as output, but I could not save this plot

trying to fit a thin plate spline to a triangular plot
Hi
Has anyone tried to fit a thin plate spine to a triangular plot before? I'm having trouble working out a piece of code to make it possible with three axes. I have done it before with two axes.
I've found a package I prefer that makes triangular plots (plotrix) using the triax.plot() function. An example of some data and the plot follows:
graph.data<-data.frame(a=c(9,6.2,

How to store a triangular matrix
Hello, I want to create a triangular matrix and only keep the lower triangle entries without having to allocate memory for the whole matrix, is there any way I can do something like
A<-matrix(data, nrow=50)

Thanks

triangular PDF
Howdy,
I couldn't find any way to generate deviates from a triangular
PDF in R, so here's a function to do so.
-Andy
rtri <- function(n=1,min=0,max=1,ml=0.5) {
# Return independent random deviates from a
# triangular distribution.
# n is number of deviates requested
# min, max are lower and upper limits of r.v. range
# ml is the most-likely value

convering upper triangular matrix into vector
Hi
I have two symmetrical distance matrices and want to compute the correlation
coefficient between them (after turning them into vectors).
Is there a way of selecting only the upper triangular part of each matrix, then
convert this into a vector so I can compute the correlation?
Many Thanks
