Otherwise after a localhost migrate of an HVM domain with a stubdomain we end
up with domains called "FOO" and "FOO--incoming-dm".

Questions on libvirt hook scripts
Hi,
Reading http://libvirt.org/hooks.html I'm wondering of the following
implication is accurate:
Under "QEMU guest migration" it says
At the beginning of the migration, the qemu hook script on the
_destination_ host is executed with the "start" operation.
Above that, under "Specifics"
Before a QEMU guest is started, the qemu hook script is called in

Re: Recommended change for the networking page in wiki
So should I go ahead and make the changes to the script that I suggested?
Thanks,

Recommended change for the networking page in wiki
Hello all,
I was told on IRC that I should come here to discuss a recommended change
on the networking page in the wiki.
If you take a look at the "Basic Script" shown here:
http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking#Forwarding_Incoming_Connections
It does two things:
1) Create a DNAT rule in the NAT table of IPTABLES
2) Create a FORWARD rule in the FILTER table of IPTABLES
The FORWARD

smb.conf template homedir
For local login to our samba server, we are using posix information
stored in an openldap directory. - I can log in via shell with no problems.
We are authenticating samba against AD2003. I can attach to the samba
server from both windows and macintosh - just not access my home directory.
Currently, "template homedir = /home/%U" - which results in a path of
/home/<username>

Re: uefi built from tiancore via edk2 can't persist boot changes
Thanks VERY MUCH for all the info and help!
Apologies for the extreme delay. I got distracted by other threads that
forced out this work to later date. Also some frustration as well. ;)
I completely missed this update. Apologies and thanks
Will be diving back into this shortly!

data corruption in samba 3.4.3 ?
Hello,
I am using Citrix XenServer for my VM environment. I found that If I am using samba 3.4.3 and dump a vm from a Citrix xen node the resulting image is not importable(ie corrupt) into xenCenter. If I am using samba-3.3.9 and perform the same operation everything works great. To dump the vm's from Xen I mount a samba share from the domU OS. I use the following xen commands to dump the

[PATCH 4/5] mltools: curl: turn Curl.run to raise exceptions
Add a new Curl_failed exception, and raise it when Curl.run fails,
instead of exiting directly with error. This allows users of Curl to
handle failed downloads gracefully.
Add wrappers to the "main" functions of virt-builder, virt-v2v, and
virt-v2v-copy-to-local to catch Curl_failed, and show a better message
for them.

[PATCH v2 4/4] common/mltools: xpath_helpers: Get rid of xpath_*_default functions.
Instead of using ‘xpath_(string|int|int64)_default’ we can write the
equivalent code using ‘Option.default’. This is not quite so concise,
but may be easier to understand.
eg:
xpath_int_default xctx "xpath_expr" 10
->
Option.default 10 (xpath_int xctx "xpath_expr")

[PATCH 1/5] v2v: Remove --dcpath parameter and related functionality.
With modern libvirt, when fetching the XML of a VMware guest libvirt
passes us the datacenter path (dcpath). However with older libvirt we
had to guess this value, or else the user had to supply it on the
command line.
This commit removes all the guessing code and the --dcpath parameter
(which will now give an error).
This requires libvirt >= 1.2.20 for virt-v2v, released Oct 2015.

[PATCH] RFC: v2v: add and use libvirt connection objects
Enhance the Libvirt_utils module with libvirt connection objects,
and read-only and read-writen open functions for them; adapt the rest of
the mini-binding to use these objects, instead of opening + closing
libvirt connections every time. This has different improvements:
a) a libvirt connection is reused for different API calls, improving
the communication with remote (input) servers

[PATCH v4 3/7] v2v: switch to ocaml-libvirt
Currently virt-v2v has few custom C-based functions for libvirt
operations, which are limited in what they do, and there is a lot of
duplicated code.
Instead, switch to ocaml-libvirt for all the libvirt interaction
currently done by the Libvirt_utils module. This has few advantages:
- each input & output module now opens a libvirt connection only once,
only when needed
- no need to pass

[PATCH 2/2] ocaml tools: Use a common debug function.
Add a common debug function for printing debugging messages. It only
emits the debug message when the verbose (-v) flag is used on the
command line.
It sends the output to stderr, which is flushed immediately after the
message is printed (to help with debugging unexpected crashes). There
are good arguments for sending the debug to either stdout or stderr,
and almost all existing debug messages

uefi built from tiancore via edk2 can't persist boot changes
Apologies if this has been gone over, but I believe I have checked the
intertubes more than a bit.....
I am using libvirt and have vms booting under an OVMF.fd to use an efi
firmware. I can create vms, linux ubuntu, and they will boot up. However,
everytime I reboot am I dropped into the default efi shell provide by the
tianocore build.
Then I must walk the FS to the booting efi app and run, in
