As to whether there are reasons they can't be hidden or it's simply a matter of no one thinking it's important enough to submit a patch for it, that I don't know. Wine is not a sandbox; it can do anything

mainboard recommendations
Hi, As it has been brought to my attention (by several parties), my current MB does not support VT-d. Since I don''t feel like purchasing a brand new system, I have searched for replacement MB-s that would fit into my existing uATX case, support my C2D CPU, and support at least 4x2GB ram. I have narrowed it down to the following four models: SUPERMICRO MBD-C2SBM-Q-O (Q35 chipset)

status of Jack?
Hi, Could someone please explain me what is the current status of the jack audio back-end? (Both midi and audio.) The feature to switch back-end seems to have disappeared from winecfg, and I can't find anything useful in the docs either. Thank you for your help: Kristof

XEN sound emulation locks device exclusively
Hi there! My problem is the following: I am experimenting with virtualization with XEN. I am running WinXP in a HVM host with a Debian Gnu/Linux (Etch) dom0. I am also using audio emulation (sb16). This way, sounds from WinXP work fine. And here comes the problem: The HVM guest completely reserves the audio device; other software can not use it. (mplayer says this: alsa-init: using ALSA

Graphics Card for VirtualGL server in XEN domU
Hi, I have read your message about building a VirtualGL server in a xen domU at http://www.mail-archive.com/virtualgl-users@lists.sourceforge.net/msg00088.html . I plan to do exactly the same. Could you please share some of your experience? What HW have you chosen? Have you succeeded? According to the information at http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenVGAPassthroughTestedAdapters ,

Bug#536176: xen-utils-3.4: trying xen-3.4 once breaks xen-3.2 (?)
Package: xen-utils-3.4 Version: 3.4.0-1 Severity: critical Justification: breaks unrelated software After installing xen-utils-3.4 besides my existing xen-3.2 system, I could not start xend-3.2 anymore. The message I was getting is this: "Failed to initialize dom0 state." As far as I know, xen 3.2 and 3.4 are supposed to be able to live peacefully on the same system. (The

Bug#536173: xen-utils-3.4 need to depend on 3.4 version of xenstore
Package: xen-utils-3.4 Version: 3.4.0-1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable This packages should depend on the 3.4 version of xenstore utils and library, because it the Lenny versions are installed, xend crashes instead of starting up. (Many users choose to run lenny/sid hybrid systems, with lenny as default, so it's completely plausible that the wrong package will be

Bug#536175: xen-utils-3.4: Package description should mention the HVM is disabled
Package: xen-utils-3.4 Version: 3.4.0-1 Severity: important The current version of the package does not contain the IOEMU tools. This makes HVM domains, and PV domains with emulated features like VFB impossible to run. There might be good reasons for this, but then at least the package description should contain a warning that makes this obvious, so that users know that they can not simply

Bug#536174: xen-utils-3.4: pygrub searches for filesystem plugins at the wrong path
Package: xen-utils-3.4 Version: 3.4.0-1 Severity: important pygrub uses the fsimage library to read contents of the filesystems to boot. This package install the plugins for different filesystems at /usr/lib/xen-3.4/lib/fs/, but searches for them under /usr//usr/lib/fs. (The debian patch tools-libfsimage-prefix.diff explicitly tinkers with this path, but it fails.) This breaks pygrub. --

Persmissions on 'root' folder
Hi, I'd like to accomplish te following but can't seem to find how: Share1 subdir1 subdir2 Share 1 that is connected by our Windows clients, should NOT be writable directly. This means, nobody (except a specified group/user?) should be able to create a top-level folder or file in this share. Write and execute rights through the subdir1 and subdir2 should however be left alone and

Cool test :) It seems to work fine now, I don't see any new failures. IIUC, Kristof is also giving it another run. Thanks Diana. That is indeed the assumption in the code and this is obviously wrong. Could you try the attached patch? (I haven’t even tried to compile it though) Cheers, -Quentin -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
