grouping or classifying servers
hi list,

a few days in my company ( internet, books, etc as sources ).
i''ve been using cfengine for a few years now, and trying to get into
puppet.
i''d install puppet 0.25, because i feel a need to use regular

Need Help with Fence_xvm
Dear Xen Users,
I am new to this technology and I''ve been reading all over the places about how to setup a cluster infrasctructre using Xen DOM0 and Xen DOMu Domains.
So far I have quite a few parts running (cluster) but I am trying to add a (virtual) fencing method. I have read that I can use (Virtual Fencing) using the fence_xvmd-fence_xvm deamon and agents; that will allow me to

Cluster gets stopped
Hi
I am using a two node cluster to achieve high availability.
I am basically testing a scenario where in if i shutdown my node
(node-1) then the other node (node-2) should start functioning like
node-1. Currently what i am observing is that the entire cluster gets
into "Stopped" state.
Here is my cluster.conf file

CTDB+GFS2+CMAN. clean_start="0" or clean_start="1"?
Hi everybody,
I have tested CTDB+GFS2+CMAN under Debian. It works good but I do not
understand some points.
It is possible to run the CTDB defining it under services section in
cluster.conf but running it on the second node shuts down the process at the
first one. My CTDB configuration implies 2 active-active nodes.
Does CTDB care if the node starts with clean_start="0" or

Using multiple certificates for a given private key
Hi,
I'm experimenting with certificates for users, giving access via the
TrustedUserCAKeys mechanism. Unfortunately, there seems to be a limit of
one certificate per SSH key on the user's side, which prevents using the
same key for hosts using different TrustedUserCAKeys. Is there a clean
way around this?
To make the above clearer, consider the following situation:
A collection of hosts

RHCS on CentOS4 - 2 node cluster problem
Hello fellows,
I have a problem with a 2 node RHCS cluster (CentOS 4) where node 1
failed and node 2 became active. That happened already last year and due
to holidays the customer didn't recognize it. The cluster is just a
failover for Apache and has no shared storage space.
Customer now saw the situation, tried to fix it by rebooting node 1,
which then failed to come back up. As

ocfs2 with RHCS and GNBD on RHEL?
Does anyone have OCFS2 running with the "Red Hat Cluster Suite" on RHEL?
I'm trying to create a more or less completely fault tolerant solution with two storage servers syncing storage with dual-primary DRBD and offering it up via multipath to nodes for OCFS2.
I was able to successfully multipath a dual-primary DRBD based GFS2 volume in this manner using RHCS and GNBD. But switched

Recover botched drdb gfs2 setup .
Hi.
The short story... Rush job, never done clustered file systems before,
vlan didn't support multicast. Thus I ended up with drbd working ok
between the two servers but cman / gfs2 not working, resulting in what
was meant to be a drbd primary/primary cluster being a primary/secondary
cluster until the vlan could be fixed with gfs only mounted on the one
server. I got the single server

Xen Testing (Jan 21st SRC tarball) with RHCS
Hi all,
I''ve posted to the linux-cluster suite about a issue i''m having with
RHCS and Xen, it seems all my DomU''s cant join the cluster, the answer i
got was this
----------------------------
Ah, you''re running Xen!
There''s a bug in cman_tool in that it only looks at the first 16 interfaces
and Xen seems to stuff loads more in there.
