live migration without shared storage problems.
Hi, all
I migrate a vm from source host to the destination host.
I am sure every part is ok for migration.
1 Create the image in the destination and change the user and group.
2 Open TCP socket in the destination host.
and I migrate in the source host command line.
$ virsh migrate --live --copy-storage-all vmubuntu
qemu+ssh://destinationHost/system --verbose
But I get the error

deleting files on server side
Hello all,
Do someone know how can I delete files on a rsync server by using a rsync
client without using SSH/RSH?
Doing a "rsync -avz --stats --port=874 /export/home/user/*
destinationhost::TEST" I?m copying files from /export/home/user/* to the
'path' of destinationhost. TEST module have the ?path? directive set to
?/home/user?.
My doubt is how can I delete all

Live Migration Without Shared Storage
I‘m very exited to hear that qemu has supported live migration without shared storage and I also have found some persons give their experiments, for example: (http://blog.allanglesit.com/2011/08/linux-kvm-management-live-migration-without-shared-storage/)
# virsh migrate --live vmname qemu+ssh://kvmnode02.allanglesit.net/system --copy-storage-all --verbose --persistent --undefinesource

How to rsync only directories, no files inside ?
Hi.
I need to create a lot of directories, just the same with remote's /var,
but I only need the directories, the files inside those sub-directories in
/var/ are not necessary for me.
I know "find+cp" can do, but I would like to use the archive mode, i.e. I
need the original permision, owner, group...
Can I make it using rsync ? If so, please tell me how.
Thank you in advance.

Live Migration using Libvirt migrate()
Hi,
This is a follow up of the mail regd migration I'd posted a few days ago. My
scenario:
I'm creating two virtual machines images from an Ubuntu 10.10 iso of RAM
size 128 and 700 MB.
Using the migrate() , I migrate it from the current physical machine to the
destination machine via a 100 Mbps switch LAN connection. BOTH migrations
take the same amount of time.

For my academic project to analyse the Performance of transport protocols in
Live Migration of Virtual Machines.I have configured the live migration
using tcp and I succeed the live migration.
Now for my further remaining project work I need to do the same thing for
the UDP implemataiton. When I changed the command in virsh, (My fianl command
in TCP is virsh migrate --live ubuntu21

Live migration with non-shared storage leads to corrupted file system
Hi,
We have the following environment for live-migration with
non-shared stroage between two nodes,
Host OS: RHEL 6.3
Kernel: 2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64
Qemu-kvm: 1.2.0
libvirt: 0.10.1
and use "virsh" to do the job as
virsh -c 'qemu:///system' migrate --live --persistent
--copy-storage-all <guest-name> qemu+ssh://<target-node>/system

Live migration using shared storage in different networks
Hi!
I am building a KVM cluster that needs VM live migration.
My shared storage as well as the KVM hosts will be running
CentOS.
Because 10 Gbps Ethernet switches are very expensive at the
moment I will connect the KVM hosts to the storage by
cross-over cables and create private networks for each
connection (10.0.0.0/30 and 10.0.0.4/30).
The following diagram shows the topology

P2P live migration with non-shared storage: fails to connect to remote libvirt URI qemu+ssh
Migration without --p2p works just fine, ie. the below works:
$ virsh migrate --verbose --copy-storage-all \
--live cvm1 qemu+ssh://kashyapc@devstack3/system
Migration: [100 %]
Result:
- On the source host, the guest is shut off
- On the destination host, the guest is live migratied successfully
Migration with "--p2p" fails, a simple test below:

[LLVMdev] LLVM
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the quick input. The harder the LLVM is,
the harder it is for me to teach the course:-)
Too many optimisations have been added, meaning
I have to design many new projects.

[LLVMdev] LLVM
Jingling,
I faced the same issue in using LLVM for an introductory compiler course
this semester. The way I am (optimistically) addressing it is that I have
given the students a tarball of LLVM containing most of LLVM but very few
optimizations. In particular, we've only given them a few essential
transformations that the front-end or lli need, and any transformations used
by those

[LLVMdev] LLVM
Hi Chris,
I understand that LLVM is now available in the public domain.
I assume many more optimisations have been added to the system.
I need to decide which compiler system I will use for my
advanced compiler course this year.
Many students enjoyed working with your llvm last year.
Thanks for the input.

Dear Rusers,
I have some data in .csv file like "2004-8-1" and "2004-10-1", and i need
to convert them into days from the origin (January 1, 1960).
I have tried the function date.mmddyyyy(), but cannot get it. Anybody can
show me how to handle the date data?
Thanks very much!
My dataset like:
time
2004-8-1
2004-10-1
2001-9-1
