deleting files on server side
Hello all,
Do someone know how can I delete files on a rsync server by using a rsync
client without using SSH/RSH?
Doing a "rsync -avz --stats --port=874 /export/home/user/*
destinationhost::TEST" I?m copying files from /export/home/user/* to the
'path' of destinationhost. TEST module have the ?path? directive set to
?/home/user?.
My doubt is how can I delete all

How to rsync only directories, no files inside ?
Hi.
I need to create a lot of directories, just the same with remote's /var,
but I only need the directories, the files inside those sub-directories in
/var/ are not necessary for me.
I know "find+cp" can do, but I would like to use the archive mode, i.e. I
need the original permision, owner, group...
Can I make it using rsync ? If so, please tell me how.
Thank you in advance.

[PATCH] Enable uppercase letters to be entered in QEMU monitor terminal
Changeset 10742:3e07ec30c445 made it possible to switch to the QEMU
monitor terminal when using the VNC display protocol. Unfortunately
the VNC key handling is rather crazy, so even if you have the shift
key pressed, a VNC client will send a lowercase letter, expecting the
server to interpret the state of the shift key as desired.
Normally in HVM guests, the guest OS does this interpretation

[PATCH][VT] Multithread IDE device model ( was: RE: [PATCH]Make IDE dma tranfer run in another thread inqemu)
Keir:
This is to to make the IDE device model multithreading so that
the VMX domain IO access completion (triggering DMA operation) can be
asynchronize with the completion of DMA operation. With this patch we
get 8%--14% performance gain for kernel build.
Thanks,
eddie

[LLVMdev] LLVM
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the quick input. The harder the LLVM is,
the harder it is for me to teach the course:-)
Too many optimisations have been added, meaning
I have to design many new projects.

Unable to use more than 4 serial devices at once.
Hi All.
I'm trying to setup a guest within my hypervisor that acts as a Console
Server, using 10 USB to Serial adapters. The Host is all setup and can
access each Serial Port without problems.
I have attempted to add the Serial Connections to a Guest, using both
Virtual Machine Manager and by editing the .XML file, and I can add up to 4
Serial devices (Including one for console access to the

Start domain with usable QMP connection?
Is there any way to get virsh / libvirt to create a domain such that I
can later connect to it via QMP (without hacking the code)?
The command line that libvirt creates for my current setup looks like this:
/usr/local/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 -S -M pc-0.12 -enable-kvm -m 512
-smp 1,sockets=1,cores=1,threads=1 -name winxpsp2 -uuid

Re: error: internal error: missing backend for pool type 11 (zfs)
@Michal: Thanks for your reply!
Indeed I have found a package in the AUR (libvirt-zfs) and only had to
change to the current version and add zfs-utils as dependency in the
PKGBUILD. Now I don't get the previous error anymore but I still cannot
setup a VM because I constantly get errors due to wrong permissions.
I have tried to change the permissions in:
- /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf

New Guess OS Creation Problem
Hi All,
I am running on CentOS Released 6.1 final. Been using and running Linux KVM quite well for quite some time, something goes wrong after I perform yum upgrade.
I created new VM yesterday without any problem, same exact installation procedure, installed FreeBSD 8.2. I tried to create a new VM today after yum upgrade, it's able to detect the hard disk, when I start commit FreeBSD 8.2

[LLVMdev] LLVM
Jingling,
I faced the same issue in using LLVM for an introductory compiler course
this semester. The way I am (optimistically) addressing it is that I have
given the students a tarball of LLVM containing most of LLVM but very few
optimizations. In particular, we've only given them a few essential
transformations that the front-end or lli need, and any transformations used
by those

Is there a way to disable libvirt qemu monitor while creating kvm vm using virsh?
Hi,
Now for some reason, I need to add “ -qmp tcp:127.0.0.1:1235” when creating a KVM VM using libvirt. This command meaning in “qemu-kvm --help” is: -qmp dev like -monitor but opens in 'control' mode.
I added command-line equivalent options into the xml file, like below format:
<qemu:commandline>
<qemu:arg value="-s"/>

Add support for vhost-user-scsi-pci/vhost-user-blk-pci
Hi Guys,
And I want to add the vhost-user-scsi-pci/vhost-user-blk-pci support
for libvirt.
The usage in qemu like this:
Vhost-SCSI
-chardev socket,id=char0,path=/var/tmp/vhost.0
-device vhost-user-scsi-pci,id=scsi0,chardev=char0
Vhost-BLK
-chardev socket,id=char1,path=/var/tmp/vhost.1
-device vhost-user-blk-pci,id=blk0,chardev=char1
What type should I add for libvirt.
