How to disable dnsmasq from starting automatically with libvirtd
Hi. I have a machine with a local DHCP server and a couple of virtual networks and I've configured the server for each virtual interface, so that I would be able to install VMs on the corresponding subnets using PXE. The problem is that the two DHCP servers (my local server and dnsmasq) are conflicting with each other causing the boot process to either fails or takes ages untill a VM can

libvirt/dnsmasq is not adhering to static DHCP assignments
This is basically a continuation of an older posting[0] I found, but apparently no solution has been posted. So, I'm trying to setup static DHCP leases with dnsmasq that is being started by libvirtd: ----------------------------------------------------------- $ sudo virsh net-dumpxml --network default <network> [...] <dns enable='no'/> <ip

Bug#286532: dnsmasq: misses message for DHCPINFORM due to 283331 fix
Package: logcheck-database Version: 1.2.32 Severity: normal Tags: patch The fix for 283331 exposed a bug in the dnsmasq rules. The rule was looking for DHCPINFO, but the actual message is DHCPINFORM. Prior to the 283331 fix, the old rule worked, because the "[()[:alnum:]]+" part of the rule matched the "RM" at the end of DHCPINFORM. -- System Information: Debian Release:

Re: libvirt/dnsmasq is not adhering to static DHCP assignments
Hi, It looks like that's the issue: # cat /var/lib/libvirt/dnsmasq/osc_mgmt.hostsfile 52:54:00:2c:85:92,192.168.80.1,openstack-controller-00 But it makes me wonder...libvirt should be generating and managing this file right? Do I need to edit this myself or should libvirt be updating this file? If so then why isn't it? On Mon, Oct 30, 2017 at 5:21 AM, Yalan Zhang

Large File Access from Linux to Linux Host using Samba
Hello again, Correction, CIFS did not fix the problem, I can't get it to work with with a Linux server from a Linux client. With two boxes named L-A and L-B, I can connect using mount.cifs from L-A to L-B, but not vice-versa. On the direction that fails, I get a NASTY register dump with a segmentation fault. Meaningless to me, unfortunately. The only thing that makes since is the dump says

bind9 and isc-dhcp-Server for dynamic DNS-updates Error
Hi Rowland, I have not another dhcp server. dnsmasq is not configured. I think the problem may be permissions. Which distribution linux do you use, Ubuntu? I was tracing the script code dhcp-dyndns.sh, when the execution on the first line fails Is correct this instructions in Debian: chown root:root /etc/dhcp/dhcpduser.keytab chmod 400 /etc/dhcp/dhcpduser.keytab ----- Mensaje original

Hi, Ok it's better like this!:-) The dhcp failover mode works well and 2 windows 7 client PC are well handled. They can have an IP and addresses are created/deleted in the DNS successfully. but... I try to remove my 2 old windows 2000 AD server from the production's LAN and put my 2 new Samba4 instead. The dhcp servers works fine but not really the DDNS. We have this kind of error
