Bug#784880: [PATCH for-4.6] tools: libxl: Handle failure to create qemu dm logfile
If libxl_create_logfile fails for some reason then libxl__create_qemu_logfile previously just carried on and dereferenced the uninitialised logfile. Check for the error from libxl_create_logfile, which has already logged for us. This was reported as Debian bug #784880. AW: executable on /etc/rc.local doesn't start
Do you have any logfile output? First check whether the environment (JAVA_HOME for example) is set before calling /usr/apache-tomcat-5.5.17/bin/startup.sh. Webalizer + IceCast2 logfile?
Is it possible? Basically, I want to process the IceCast2 logfile in the same way as I process my Apache server logs? I tried a dry run, and it reported an error with regards to the "date" field - I am currently replacing the date field text "Eastern Standard Time" with the text "-400", to see if that would fix it (that how it is in my Apache logfile). I will

Dovecot Expire doesn't work
Hello, I'm using dovecot and I want to use the "expire" plugin. However, it doesn't work, i.e. mails do not get deleted. I ran `/usr/sbin/dovecot --exec-mail ext /usr/libexec/dovecot/expire-tool --test` and besides printing Info: stef/Trash: no messages left Info: stef/Spam: no messages left it doesn't do anything (especially not deleting e-mails). Each night i create snapshots of the domains, after copying the consistent raw file to a CIFS server i blockcommit the changes into the raw files. That's running quite well. But recent the blockcommit didn't work for one domain: I create a logfile from the whole procedure:

Need IP on failed logins in logfile
On Sun, 26 Jun 2016 09:24:16 Rowland penny <rpenny at samba.org> wrote: > ... > So, if you are looking for an ipaddress of a failed login attempt, it > seems you can get it. That looked interesting. I tried creating the logfile /var/log/samba/.log.samba.%m and restart samba. What it did was immediately create separate log files for each currently attached workstation:

Samba logfile rotation on AIX
I am running a Samba server version 3.0.23d on AIX and I am trying to figure out how to rotate the Samba logs daily. I know the logfile can be rotated based on size but how can I make it rotate daily without the size parameter? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Maurice Forte

Need IP on failed logins in logfile
I used to also get related log messages of the form: auth_check_password_send: Checking password for unmapped user [HPRS]\[mark]@[ROVER] auth_check_password_send: mapped user is: [HPRS]\[mark]@[ROVER] but now all I get is the auth_check_password_recv in the log. Perhaps the change is due to an upgrade to Samba, or perhaps a change I made to my smb.conf log options? (see log config in my

Bug#258427: logcheck/logtail didn't detect tampering logfile
Package: logcheck wanted to work on #195935, but found a less than funny issue, easy to reproduce: * remove some lines in front of your logfile * invoke logcheck you'll get a big email with all not matching lines from that log. not setting that to high priority because you are getting also the newer loglines. don't know if i find time that weekend. wanted to document it anyways. a++

Logfile encoding question
Hello. I've got a question about encoding in sshd's log files. When I try to log in with a "?" username, which is a cyrillic "h" (U+0445), I get this message in a logfile: input_userauth_request: invalid user \\321\\205 [preauth]. I am struggling to understand: is that hex, is that octal? It doesn't map to any encoding that I know of.
