IMAPS: Disable SSL connection without client certificate
I've been using Dovecot 2.1.8 on OpenBSD 5.2 i386 for about a month.
It works great. Dovecot serves IMAPS only, and I'm using Thunderbird
to access my mail.
I configured Dovecot to allow clients that present a valid certificate
when establishing SSL connection. I configure my Thunderbird for
SSL/TLS connection with normal password. It works fine.
However, with my config anybody

Samba AD - two servers - backup and restore AD procedure
Hi All!
I would be grateful for clarification of my doubts about backups and
restoration of the AD environment.
What is the best strategy for backing up and restoring a Samba AD domain in
the following scenarios:
* server1 - active directory service (7 FSMO roles)
* server2 - active directory service + Samba file server
The considered disaster recovery scenarios are:

[zfs] portable zfs send streams (preview webrev)
We have finished a beta version of the feature. A webrev for it
can be found here:
http://cr.illumos.org/~webrev/sensille/fits-send/
It adds a command ''zfs fits-send''. The resulting streams can
currently only be received on btrfs, but more receivers will
follow.
It would be great if anyone interested could give it some testing
and/or review. If there are no objections,

things easier. Everything goes fine so far, except that for some windows
user, some times, on browsing some directories, it takes extremely long time

HP dl580 g5 RAID management
If this were a Dell RAID, I could use megaraid while the system's running.
Does anyone know what I need to use to manage the HP "amart array" RAID?
I've got an orange light on a drive, and can't find, googling, whether I
can just pull the drive, or if I have to separate it from the RAID, or....
And can't bring the system down to use the firmware interface, not without

Setting up port forwarding to guests on nat network
Hello all,
I’m currently trying to figure out how to forward ports to guests that are on a NAT Network. I have followed the directions on https://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Networking under the “Forwarding Incoming Connections” Section and get connection refused when attempting to connect.
System: Ubuntu Server 18.04.1
Virsh / LibVirtd Version: 4.0.0
Here’s the contents of /etc/libvirt/hooks/qemu

Hi Centos maintainers !
Could You please refresh repo data for centosplus reposytory 4 ? There
are new kernels rpms, but repo index files arn't updated. Please fix that.
For example: http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/centosplus/x86_64/ rpm
from 20 oct 2010 but meatadata from 28 sep 2010 ...
P.S:
That was 17 nov 2010 fixed for centosplus 5 repo, but centosplus 4 was

OpenSSH banner doesnot display multibyte characters like korean
Hello,
The banner message displayed on the screen contain octal values
instead of korean chars. Prior to ssh 5.1 the banner message would
display the charaters properly.
I understand that starting from 5.1 the message is passed through
strnvis() function.
I looked into documentation on strnvis and found that it does not
support multibyte chars and doesnt work well with international chars.

Call recorder based on *
Hello,
This request was initally sent to the -dev list, but I was advised to try rather here,
thanks Steve.
Here is the story:
I was asked by a call center company to find a solution of an affordable multichannel
system for recording their agents calls. Their basic demand is to handle recording of up
to 60 simultaneous telephone calls. There are many sophisticated recording systems

Compiling from source and networking problem
Hey,
I was originally asking questions on xen-users but no one seems to have any
idea about this so I figured I''d try this list.
I compiled Xen from source (3.2 testing) on an Intel machine running Fedora
Core 8 and have discovered that my guest (Windows Vista) does not have a
network connection.
Looking at various online documentation and a machine that does work, I
guessed that I

PROPOSAL: --link-hash-dest, additional linking of files to their HASH values
I'm using the excellent --link-dest option on rsync to do every-day full
backups of a number of servers. These servers share most of the
file-system content, but of course has some variations.
In order to reduce the space used for each backup, I was thinking about
linking all files in the backups to their hash in a separate directory,
allowing only one storage of each file-value, reducing

unable to ping from guests in virbr0 to guests in virbr1 network
Hi all,
I have 3 guests (2-RHEL4 and 1 RHEL6) and have some issues regarding
networking between them. The 2 RHEL4 system's use default bridge virbr0 and
get ip's of range 192.168.122.0/24 (192.168.122.207, 192.168.122.167)
I created another bridge (virbr1) with NAT forwarding (no dhcp). The
network i choose was 192.168.100.0/24. And the third system (RHEL6) was
assigned static ip-addres

http problem with (a particular url) and default (nat) networking
At work I have a script that provisions a vm for use by employees. One
step in this process is to fetch hadoop, which we happen to get from
cloudera. I noticed the script always failed when I used libvirt's default
networking (nat) but worked fine when I used user mode networking. My
instinct is that this is related to (potentially uncommon) network traffic
from the server in question, and
