update virDomainDef with xml config
Libvirt Version: 0.9.8 Hi: I added a new api for qemu_driver. and both added libvirt.c and remote. I tested it and it worked well. the function of this new api was add a new field in xml config of domain. (I added it like qemudDomainSetMemoryFlags)at the same time, I added a new member to struct virDomainDef. then I tested xml config converted to virDomaindef and virDomainDef converted to xml

Qemu driver not supporting VIR_DOMAIN_DEVICE_MODIFY_CONFIG yet?
Hi, According to the docs on http://libvirt.org/html/libvirt-libvirt.html#virDomainDetachDeviceFlags I ought to be able to do virDomainDetachDeviceFlags( <domain>, <devicexml>, VIR_DOMAIN_DEVICE_MODIFY_LIVE | VIR_DOMAIN_DEVICE_MODIFY_CONFIG); to detach a volume both from a currently running VM instance and permanently from the defined config file. If I actually try that,

libvirtd not accepting connections
Hi, Ever since I recently upgraded to Fedora 25, I can't get kvm working. It's worked on this system since initial fedora 20 install. All upgrades were done via yum, then once available, dnf. I do have libvirt-sock in LISTENING state: STREAM LISTENING /var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock I noticed I also have multiple connections in CONNECTING state: STREAM CONNECTING 0

Where does "cmd" initailize in qemu_command.c?
Hi, Excuse me, I have a question when I reading the libvirt source codes. I have known the process of how libvirt start/manage qemu, since I need to write a driver based on libvirt. But one thing also confused, please give me some tips. 1. In qemu_command.c, there is a function call "cmd = virCommandNewArgList(emulator, "-S", NULL);", which

[PATCH server] Starting of new ovirt QMF API.
This is the new ovirt agent that implements the QMF API. This is just its humble beginnings. The goal was to implement the create VM method on VMs but it turns out we need to specify the VM pool in order to do that. This is currently hardcoded to '5' and works locally but would likely not work elsewhere. What does work well is listing/querying of existing VMs. There is still lots of

libvirt call qemu to create vm need more than 10 seconds
Hi all: It takes more than 10 seconds to create a vm on a Dell R830 machine, but it takes less than 2 seconds on other machines. This is not normal, so I turned on the debug log for libvirtd. I analyzed the log and found that the time was spent on libvirtd calling qemu. Thread 95225 calls the qemuProcessLaunch interface at 14:22:30.129 and then builds the emulator command line, but the

How to connect to console of domain on PowerPC?
Hi, I tried to use libvirt to run KVM/QEMU on Freescale PowerPC platforms. So far there's only one serial device (spapr-vty) defined in QEMU to work as console for IBM PSeries platform. There's no serial device support in QEMU for Freescale PowerPC (ePAPR). libvirt/src/qemu/qemu_command.c /* This function generates the correct '-device' string for character * devices of each
