Hi, fp is a data frame like this ,----[ fp ] | Frequenz AmpNorm | 1 3322 0.0379490639 | 2 3061 0.0476033058 | 3 2833 0.0592954124 | 4 2242 0.1275510204 `---- i want to find the "Frequenz" where "AmpNorm" is max. I use this line as workaround: PeakFreqHz = subset(fp, AmpNorm == max(AmpNorm))$Frequenz[1] Is there something nicer? And is there an

TUNGETIFF ioctl() failed - virtual machine can't start
Hi, I want to migrate from vmware to KVM. Therefore I have installed debian stable (lenny) and create two virtual machines (KVM). Both (XP as well as Vista) running fine. After upgrading to debian testing (sqeeze) both XP-guest as well as Vista-guest didn't start anymore. Both are failing during preparation, probably because of a network-problem. I will give XP as an example: cat

Run-time error '429'
Hello, I'm running wine on my Lenovo X60s under Ubuntu 7.04 I received a small program-executable made somehow with Matlab. A simple flow simulation model. Installation and executing the file with wine seems to be unproblematic first. However, there are some functions in the program where it crashes with the following message: Run-time error '429' ActiveX component can't create

Various OpenGL apps crashing in CentOS 5?
Hi All, I'm experiencing odd behaviour with various OpenGL apps I'm (trying to) use. I have an IBM Thinkpad X60s with the Intel GMA chipset, the 945GM to be precise. I have glxinfo/glxgears working normally, disabled composite in xorg.conf and everything seems fine. However, there are a few applications that I use that show rather strange behaviour that I think is related to the same

[PATCH/DRAFT] Embed metadata into object file
Hi, so this is my first contribution to LLVM/clang, so I hope I come close to the required coding standards and guidelines. First, I will describe the scenario I want to solve: For a few days, the clang plugin interface allows to execute the a plugin just before the actual main action (e.g., compiling an translation unit). In my case, the plugin we're developing will analyze the AST and

pairwise.t.test vs t.test
Dear all, I am perplexed when trying to get the same results using pairwise.t.test and t.test. I'm using examples in the ISwR library, >attach(red.cell.folate) I can get the same result for pairwise.t.test and t.test when I set the variances to be non-equal, but not when they are assumed to be equal. Can anyone explain the differences, or what I'm doing wrong? Here's an example

More than 50% performance decrease.
I just installed Xubuntu 8.04, Wine 0.9.60 and Warcraft 3. Ive set it so it uses OpenGL and in game i get less than 30fps with everything on low and a low resolution. On Windows i can run it on medium with 1280x800 at 60fps. Im new to Xubuntu/linux so i dont know what could be causing it. Is this expected from Wine? Specs are 1GB RAM, Intel C2D 1.66GHZ, Intel 945GM onboard graphics.

Segfaults from gcc, awk and Zend; advice needed
For some reason I'm getting more or less random segfaults compiling kernels, world or PHP5 on BETA-3 (Python and perl went ok). So far I haven't succeeded building a fresh kernel or world. This system is an Athlon XP with 1MB RAM and 4GB swap, compiling is done in the usual places in /usr, which is a set of two gstriped partitions. Dmesg attached. Previously this system has been

"wine explorer ..." eats CTRL keypresses!
Hi all, I'm new to wine, and this is my first post here, so please forgive me if this information is available elsewhere. I have tried searching regular Google and the custom search on this site, but I can't seem to find the right keywords to get the answer to pop up. Anyway, here is my problem. I am using Wine to run a couple of games under linux. One of those games is Eve Online.

Xorg eats lots of cpu power when compiz is active
As stated in topic. Maybe I have misconfigured something, because cpu usage sometimes rises to as much as 40%. I am running git compiz, fedora core 6, nvidia fx5700 with 128 MB vram using 1.0-9629 driver and a pentium 4 3.0E prescott cpu. Isn't compiz supposed to be hardware-accelerated, and thus not hogging the cpu so much? Thanks for the response in advance.

nmbd eats cpu for breakfast after upgrade from 3.5 to 3.6
Hello. I have Samba 3.6.4 with LDAP backend with domain logons enabled. Long time I was running 3.5.1? from Debian Squeeze backports without any problems. Few days ago I decided (after testing) to upgrade to 3.6.4, also from Debian backports. Next morning nobody could login and nmbd was eating up a enitre cpu core. Killing nmbd with -9 and restarting samba solved the problem. Same happened
