Can't get audio device through virt-manager
virt-manager is not asking qemu to produce any sound device based on the kvm-qemu I see with 'ps aux' https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=592671 -- Fedora 11 (www.pembo13.com)

Best practices on backingup/restore VMs
I just moved from F11 to F13 and I'm find no information on the best way to restore VMs. I had just copied /var/lib/libvirt (with the VMs off) as part of my backup (I already backup all of /etc). But virt-manager doesn't allow creations of VMs without installing. Also, as a side note, the search feature on the website doesn't seem to allow me to search using documentation only. --

Red Hat 5.2''s login doesn''t do PAM session management correctly
This is a "heads up" for anyone who relies on PAM session management in order to clean up after a login session. Red Hat 5.2''s login does not perform PAM session management correctly, potentially resulting in sessions which lose their authentication before the login shell starts. login.c in Red Hat 5.2''s util-linux package was modified so that it no longer forks a

centos 5.3, no shared physical network device in virt manager
Hi all, I just came across this issue of not seeing any network devices when trying to set up a domU using virt manager in Centos 5.3. I''ve read about this same exact issue with 5.1 but the patches or workarounds don''t apply or work for me. Any one come across this using Centos/RHEL 5.3x64 bit? - Brian _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing

[OT] Red Hat binary compatibility, from Red Hat Linux 4.0 to Fedora Core 3 (and RHEL4) ...
I wrote part of a FAQ last November, and if you're interested in the breakdown of GCC, GLibC and kernel adoption since Red Hat Linux 4.0, you'll want to read this: http://www.geocities.com/thebs413/RH-Distribution-FAQ-3.html I've been loosely working on a "Linux Configuration Management" book covering Red Hat distributions since. I might update this FAQ if I have

No shared physical device in virt-manager
I am fairly new to xen and am trying to build a new guest using virt-manager. When I get to the screen where you can choose virtual or shared physical device there are no physical devices to choose from. Is there some step that I have missed while setting up my Dom0? -Joel Coopersmith Sr. Systems and Networking Analyst joel.coopersmith@accenture.com

Hi men, I compiled and installed Xen 3.3.0 on Fedora 8, and it worked fine. However, after installing virt-manager, it goes wrong: # xm Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/sbin/xm", line 8, in <module> from xen.xm import main File "//usr/lib/python/xen/xm/main.py", line 52, in <module> from xen.xm import console File
