Windows P2V migration temporary recipe
These are the current steps we followed to set up and run Windows P2V migrations. Note that development is proceeding rapidly and the versions of all pieces below will likely be obsolete soon.

Another virt-p2v blew up
One day I'm going to run a virt-p2v that works to completion. But evidently not today.
The source physical machine is Windows 2003. This one copied the whole system drive and then died at the end and deleted the virtual disk it made. Here is the top and bottom of the trace log file on the conversion server. If the email garbles what I'm pasting in below, I can email the log as an

Plan for libguestfs 1.14
[Since Hilko asked me about this on IRC ...]
The current plan is to rebase libguestfs in RHEL 6.3:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=719879
I would like to get as many features from upstream libguestfs into
this as possible, but also make sure they have been well-tested by
Fedora users. Also there are some new tools arriving in libguestfs
upstream in the current development branch

[PATCH pkg-libvirt/libguestfs] Split off ZFS support from libguestfs0.
Hilko,
This is an experimental patch showing how to split libguestfs into
subpackages, so the main libguestfs0 doesn't depend on everything.
Splitting packages only works for packages which are in the appliance
(ie. in appliance/packagelist or supermin.d/packages).
In this patch, only zfs-fuse [which previously caused trouble for
users: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1053911] has been

1.39 proposal: Let's split up the libguestfs git repo and tarballs
My contention is that the libguestfs git repository is too large and
unwieldy. There are too many separate, unrelated projects and as a
result of that the source has too many dependencies and takes too long
to build and test.
The project divides (sort of) naturally into layers -- the library,
the bindings, the various virt tools -- and could be split along those
lines into separate projects

libguestfs preview for RHEL 7.4
With the release of RHEL 7.3 happening today, fixing 88 reported bugs
in libguestfs and virt-v2v, and countless other ones, it's time to
look ahead to RHEL 7.4.
Again we intend to rebase libguestfs, virt-v2v and virt-p2v:

running libguestfs as a service?
Hello,
First off, many thanks for libguestfs... very useful!
I'm trying to run libguestfs as an RPC service by using a python
daemon with the python libguestfs bindings. With this service I'm
"centrally" editing VM images, and often running many GuestFS() on the
same image file in a short amount of time to edit the image's
contents.
The problem I'm running across is

libguestfs 1.14 update for Fedora 16
I would like to put libguestfs 1.14 (the next stable branch) into
Fedora 16.
There should be no changes required in other packages at all, since
libguestfs is API and ABI compatible for all releases, forever. Nor
should users know the difference (except new features). But it's
software, and we don't have a formal proof, so there could be bugs ...
The release notes here cover the major

Can I use libguestfs to pass some parameters into a KVM virtual machine
Hi,
I have installed KVM in my RHEL5.3 box, and created some VMs on it.
I am wondering if I can use libguestfs to pass some parameters/files
into my VMs. As you may know, for Xen, I can use xenstore command to
do this job, can libguestfs do the same thing?
What I want to do includes:
1. Modify some configurations in my VM, such as editing
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 to add a static

[PATCH 00/13] syntax-check
Hi Rich,
This series includes patches to make `make syntax-check` pass.
Some of the fix require change to maint.mk, but the file is not in git
repo. Is it intended?
Thanks!
Hu Tao (13):

syntax-check: fix error_message_period check
syntax-check: fix makefile_at_at_check
