general protection errors
Hi,
Some time ago I sent a message about some general protection errors,
and didn't receive a response. I hoped I could post again and that
someone might have some ideas. I really don't think it is a hardware
problem producing these errors, but am otherwise out of ideas.
I'm having a problem with a fedora15 x86_64 host with a fedora15

general protection and other errors
Hi,
I'm having a problem with a fedora15 x86_64 host with a fedora15
x86_64 guest on a Xeon E3-1240 with 8GB RAM on the guest. This is the
only guest. The server is configured as a mail server, using
spamassassin, postfix, amavisd, and clamav.
It was previously running without error on different hardware. I
migrated the disks to a more powerful server due to load. It's a new
server, and

Been at it all day ... finally have to ask for help!
Hello,
So installed Fedora15. No problem, wish it had regular menus but the steamline effect isn't totally terrible.
Heard that Guild Wars1 is playable in linux and so installed wine. It seems that you aren't supposed to install as root so I removed it as root. I then try to install anything via yum as non-root and I get the error of needing to be root. So, I read that you can bypass this

DXT-support
I'm receiving the following message:
Warning
The DXT texture format is not supported by your hardware but required by the game. Text won't be readable.
On Radeon hardware, the DXT-support can be enabled through the Catalyst Control Center.
The graphics card is a Radeon HD4350. I checked Google but cannot seem to find any reference to this error. Can anyone provide some direction?
TIA

Xen (Dom0) and KVM simultaneously on same PC - is it possible?
Hello,
Is it possible to run Xen (Dom0) and KVM on the same host PC? If yes, is it
possible to run them simultaneously?
The reason that I ask is because I presently use KVM but would like to try out
Xen. However, I don''t want my KVM setup being messed up while playing with
Xen.
I''m using Fedora15 and the 3.0.0 kernel from mainline.
Thank you in advance.

Re: "guestmount --rw" fails but "guestmount --ro" succeeds on Ubuntu 14.04
Thanks for your response Rich. Please see the output of --trace --verbose
below. Regarding your suggestion to convert the vmdk to some other format,
I do not want to do it. A security consultant said by modifying certain
files in our VM and restarting the VM, one can gain access to encrypted
data in our VM. I want to reproduce it. I am able to mount the VM but not
able to modify files since it can

F15 / Wine / StarCraft2 / libjpeg8 not found.
Hello,
I'm using Fedora 15 and trying to use Wine to install Star Craft 2.
I'm seeing the following error when attempting to run the Installer:

I've installed all the libjpeg packages I thought might be required:

virt-install hell: how to *force* a local CD-ROM install?
I have a CentOS 5.6 system with a AMD Sempron(tm) Processor LE-1300
(which does not provide hardware virtualization support, so I can't use
the --cdrom option) and I am *trying* to install FC15 as a guest O/S
using a local FC15 DVD-ROM image. Everything work until the installer
*insists* on firing up the network to get the repo data, etc. I have a
*dial-up* Internet connection and this is a

Baffled after upgrade
Hello all,
I have just upgraded my Fedora 13 system to F15. With it came a shiny new dovecot 2.0.13 (Details of dovecot -n below).
The configuration is different from the dovecot 1.something that I had been used to with F13, but I managed to get it working and all was well...
Without changing anything related to dovecot (as far as I know), after a reboot, dovecot stopped working. I did a bit of

Performance tuning questions for mail server
Hi,
I have a fedora15 x86_64 host with one fedora15 guest running
amavis+spamassassin+postfix and performance is horrible. The host is a
quad-core E13240 with 16GB and 3 1TB Seagate ST31000524NS and all
partitions are ext4. I've allocated 4 processors and 8GB of RAM to
this guest. I really hoped someone could help me identify areas in
which performance can be improved at both the guest and

Samba server slow down after serving more than casual data
Hello,
I am currently running Fedora 15 on an x86_64 system that acts as a
whole house server for named, dhcp, nfs, nis, htpp, samba, etc
The system is currently running samba-3.5.11-71 with kernel
2.6.40.6-0.fc15.x86_64. The system is fully patched as of today.
However, this issue has existed for at least 2 years and I am at a loss
to debug it.
I have a simple samba configuration for
