[PATCH hivex] maint: split long lines
Hi Rich, I find it more readable (and safer to review) to avoid lines longer than 80 columns. When reviewing changes that wrap, I've noticed that it is harder to spot certain types of mistakes in the wrapped portion of a long line. >From 930118b380b35bb33e7719b0eb2ab6b31fa2d7e4 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jim Meyering <meyering at redhat.com> Date: Wed, 13 Apr 2011 16:08:57

Strange install key for R
One user of my batchfiles http://batchfiles.googlecode.com found they did not find the R registry key because it mysteriously was at hklm\software\wow6432Node. The system was a 64 bit system. I've always seen the key at hklm\software\R-core\R which is what the batchfiles assume. Has there been some change in where the installer puts the key or are there situations in which the location of

hivex lib: Add function hivex_node_num_children
Hello, I've been working on a graphical registry hive editing tool in Qt using the hivex C library. While creating it, I noticed that in order to determine if an expansion element should be shown on a node, you have to determine if a node has any children. Currently, in order to determine if a node has any children, you must find every child with hivex_node_children, which is a relatively

sample code for guestfs_hivex_node_set_value
Is there any sample code available to demonstrate the use of the guestfs_hivex_node_set_value API? I have no problem traversing and reading keys using libguestfs hivex wrappers - but continue to fail on any write attempts. The return is always -1 and errno is unchanged. I've set the environment variable HIVEX_DEBUG to 1 on a chance that this may help - but it doesn't. The only sample I

Got Windows guests?
Hello fellow Fedora, libvirt and libguestfs users, If you have any Windows guests, then you can help Fedora to support Windows guests better by spending a few minutes testing the Windows Registry feature we just added to libguestfs 1.0.75. You will need: - A Windows NT/200x/XP/Vista/7/... guest - Fedora 12 or Fedora Rawhide host - libguestfs-tools >= 1.0.75 (from updates or

Samba 3.2 and Windows 10
Hi, in a small office an old server is running Samba 3.2.15 on Debian Lenny. It is used for domain authentication and file sharing, and all Windows clients - currently up to Windows 7 - work perfectly fine with that. Now my question, to which I cannot easily find an answer on Google, is: if a client is upgraded to Windows 10, will it still work with that old Samba version? A server upgrade is

[PATCH 0/2] hivex shell
Currently 'hivexget' is a very clumsy command line tool which only lets you display a single registry key in a hive file, for example: $ hivexget SOFTWARE '\Microsoft\Windows\TabletPC\TabSetup\' "TabletSetup"=dword:00000000" This is inflexible and got really annoying as I was trying to explore these hive files in preparation for adding write support to hivex.

An lgrind definition for the S language
I seem to recall discussion of an language definition file for S for use with the lgrind utility but I can't find any trace of it in an R Site Search. The lgrind utility takes a file of code in a particular programming language and prepares it for "pretty printing" in LaTeX. In my version the available language definitions are $ lgrind -s When specifying a language case is

Calculating a daily average
I have a set of data with 12 readings for temperature per day, with 180 days. I want to find the average temperature of each day. I am able to do this one by one, but with that many days to calculate the average for, it will get very long. I'm sure there is a faster way to do this, I just don't know how. What i have so far is: av1 <- subset(ER9r, Day == 98, select = c

SMLNJ Installation
Hello, I'm trying to get a piece of windows software named HATS to run under Wine. HATS is a very advanced program transformation system and it would be really great to be able to use it under Linux. I have managed to get the HATS installer to run just fine, but have been unable to get the windows version of SML (which HATS requires) to install. If anyone wants to try installing it

Bug: floating point bug in nclass.FD can cause hist() to crash
Hello everybody, This is a bug involving functions in core R package: graphics::hist.default, grDevices::nclass.FD, and base::pretty.default. It is not yet on Bugzilla. I cannot submit it myself, as I do not have an account. Could somebody else add it for me, perhaps? That would be much appreciated. Kind regards, Sietse Sietse Brouwer Summary ------- Floating point errors can cause a data
