[PATCH 0/14] hivex: update gnulib and make "syntax-check" tests pass
Hi,
This series updates to the latest gnulib, after
making most of its "make syntax-check" tests pass.
There are still a few tests (listed in cfg.mk)
that are simply skipped. To enable one, just remove
its test name from the list of tests to skip and run
"make syntax-check".

[PATCH hivex 1/2] maint: avoid some syntax-check test failures
Hi Rich,
I've updated hivex to use the latest from gnulib
and fixed a few syntax-check failures.
With these changes, almost all of "make distcheck" succeeds.

hivex.c: unchecked calloc
Hi Rich,
There's an unchecked calloc in hivex.c's hive_open:
h->bitmap = calloc (1 + h->size / 32, 1);
...
This subsequent deref could cause a segfault:
BITMAP_SET (h->bitmap, blkoff);

"make distcheck" failure
Hi Rich,
I ran these commands as non-root:
./autogen.sh && make && make distcheck
It got most of the way through, but failed in the VPATH part
while rebuilding from a ./_build subdir, like this:

[PATCH 0/6] Various Java bindings fixes.
This short patch series fixes various problems with the Java bindings,
including enabling support for functions that return hash tables
(returned as Map<String,String>).
With this, the Java bindings are improved although still not perfect.
The last remaining issue is to implement support for functions that
take optional arguments.

libguestfs 1.12
Hi!
Last night, I uploaded version 1.12.3-2 of the libguestfs package to
Debian/unstable. I consider most of the initial work done. Apart from
fixing bugs that users will reportt, a few issues remain:
- Building bindings for multiple Python versions. I have just done this
for hivex, it is probably going to be an issue being able build with
$(builddir) != $(srcdir).
- Improving febootstrap

[hivex] [PATCH 0/1] hivexml: Revise type names in output
This patch revises the value type information printed. It is also
somewhat a test of how open to revision the output of a program is
according to RedHat's policies, of which I am not very aware beyond
strongly guaranteeing ABI compatability.

hivex patch to solve device or resource busy error when access Windows directory while open system hive
I have found a strange issue related to hivex/ntfs-3g. After opening a system hive on a volume mounted by ntfs-3g, any access to the Windows directory results device or resource busy error. The patch below fix it by closing the hive file handle in hivex_open() call in the writable path because the handle never been used after its content been read into memory.

hivexml - Flattened vs. Expanded XML
All,
Greetings. I am new to this mailing list.
We have been working with XML for digital forensics. One of the areas that we wish to create a schema for is the representation of registry entries.
We are interested in hivexml as a tool for extracting the registry as an XML representation.
In our discussion with possible users, we have generally come to the conclusion that it is useful to
