[PATCH 0/4] Add SUSE guest converter to virt-v2v
This is a new conversion module to convert SUSE Linux and openSUSE guests. The converter is based on the RedHat module, and should offer the same functionality on both SUSE and RedHat hosts. There are a few additional messages in this module, such as reporting of packages when installing through zypper or the local virt-v2v repo. These messages don't necessarily flow unless verbose switches

[PATCH] virt-v2v: Add verbose message logging
As a followup to the discussion on verbose logging for virt-v2v, this patch adds basic verbose messages in the main virt-v2v code. As Matt pointed out, the usefulness of these messages is limited as the time spent outside of data copying is trivial. However, when converting smaller guests, these messages can act as progress markers and show where time is being spent. (As I already added this code

[PATCH] virt-v2v: Default to non-virtio drivers if driver path is missing
During a Windows conversion, _prepare_virtio_drivers aborts the conversion completely if the configured virtio driver path does not exist. If the path exists but is empty, the conversion completes correctly by defaulting to the non-virtio drivers. This patch treats a missing directory just like missing drivers, by reporting a message, then defaulting to non-virtio drivers. ---

[PATCH 1/2] Allow reading more data than the reported size of a volume
If a volume is not an exact multiple of 512 bytes, qemu-img will report its size rounded down to a 512 byte boundary. However, when copying, the file is still read until EOF, which will return more data than was expected. This change prevents that causing a failure in itself. The situation is still not resolved, however, as there are still situations where this will cause a failure. For example,

[FOR REVIEW ONLY] ESX work in progress
The following patches are where I'm currently at with ESX support. I can now import a domain from ESX along with its storage. Note that I'm not yet doing any conversion. In fact, I've never even tested past the import stage (I just had an exit in there). The meat is really in the 4th patch. The rename of MetadataReader->Connection was because the Connection is now really providing

Re: [PATCH 3/4] Add SUSE converter
Mike, This is great. I have a couple of minor comments inline, but this looks good. I do have a major concern, though, which is this is basically a fork of RedHat.pm. There are well over 1,000 identical lines of code between the 2 modules. Many of the differences are relatively minor, and could be handled with additional cases. I've also fixed a couple of bits in RedHat.pm since you forked

[ESX support] Working ESX conversion for RHEL 5
With this patchset I have successfully[1] imported a RHEL 5 guest directly from ESX with the following command line: virt-v2v -ic 'esx://yellow.marston/?no_verify=1' -op transfer RHEL5-64 Login details are stored in ~/.netrc Note that this is the only guest I've tested against. I haven't for example, checked that I haven't broken Xen imports. Matt [1] With the exception of

[PATCH 0/4] virt-v2v: Convert RedHat.pm to Linux.pm
In preparation for an upcoming patch which adds support for SUSE guest conversions, it makes sense to have an intermediate steps that changes the RedHat.pm converter into a more generic Linux converter. The SUSE changes will then be limited in scope to only what is required for SUSE support. This series of patches accomplishes the following: - Renames RedHat.pm to Linux.pm - Modifies Linux.pm

Understanding the version handling in LLVM/Clang/LLD
[ Please CC me I ma not subcribed to this mailing-list ] [ CC Tom and Hans as LLVM/stable maintainers ] Hi, I want to understand the version handling in LLVM/Clang/LLD. Normally, I build from "release/10.x" Git branch by using the tool tc-build from ClangBuiltLinux project. With "llvm-10.0.1-rc1" Git tag I was able to setup a llvm-toolchain consisting of the projects

[PATCH] v2v: Make the interface between cmdline.ml and v2v.ml
I'm interested to hear opinions on whether this makes the code clearer, or not. This is virt-v2v, but many other virt-* tools work the same way, and analogous changes could be made. Currently when command line argument parsing is done in 'cmdline.ml' the list of parsed parameters is passed to the main program in a very long tuple. Each parameter is strongly typed, but not named (so

[LLVMdev] How to translate library functions into LLVM IR bitcode?
Good tips. Although I have used llvm-link to merge .bc files together, I guess -flto could optimize the resultant .bc file further. As for the assembly, yes it is an issue. Anyway, I'll try to address those sources which are available for being translated into .bc first. Thanks for your advice, Tim. Hi Tom, thanks and congrats for LLVM 10.0.1-rc1 release. [1] shows 2 assets. 10.0.0 RCs had a lot of more assets. I am missing the llvm-project-10.0.1rc1.tar.xz tarball. Will you provide them later or is there a new development/workflow decision I do not know of? BTW, the source zip and tar.gz tarballs show no sizes. I am using Mobile LTE/UMTS to download stuff from the Internet. For now I

strange RJS behavior
I used RJS extensively in my last web app with no problem. I''m just beginning a new one and having a very odd problem. The called method, get_names, retrieves some values from the database, then ends: render :layout => false the get_names.rjs file is rendered into Javascript, but then is just dumped as Javascript (text) into the browser: e.g: try {
