NOTE: New location for libguestfs, hivex and febootstrap git repositories
I have moved all three repositories to new locations on github:
https://github.com/libguestfs/libguestfs
https://github.com/libguestfs/hivex
https://github.com/libguestfs/febootstrap
You don't need to reclone them (unless you want to). You can simply
edit .git/config and adjust the URL to:
git at github.com:libguestfs/libguestfs.git
git at github.com:libguestfs/hivex.git

libguestfs for RHEL 7.0 preview repository
RHEL 7.0 will ship libguestfs 1.22, supermin (replacing febootstrap)
and hivex.
Although the RHEL 7 alphas and betas are not public, to help people
understand what the libguestfs package will look like I have put up a
preview repository:
http://oirase.annexia.org/tmp/libguestfs-RHEL-7.0/
This should work on top of RHEL 7 beta, for those able to use that.
If you want to use these packages,

libguestfs-test-tool on ubuntu: kernel panic
Hi,
I am trying to get libguestfs-test-tool working on ubuntu. The first
problem I had was that HiveX won't compile on ubuntu to due to some missing
symbols (rpl-getopt, I see this has already been reported). Second problem
is that if HiveX is not available, guestfish doesn't link because code
refers to symbols which aren't compiled into libguestfs (I was able to work
around this by

Dovecot error on rhel 6.1 using GFS2(bug)
Hi, just to let you know to all the people testing dovecot in a RHEL 6.1
setup where nodes are Active/Active and sharing a GFS2 filesystem that there
is a bug on latest rhel6.1 GFS2 kernel modules, and latest updates in 6.0
wich makes dovecot crash a GFS2 filesystem, with a corruption and other
related errors, redhat people have posted a fix for the kernel wich is in

libguestfs 1.12
Hi!
Last night, I uploaded version 1.12.3-2 of the libguestfs package to
Debian/unstable. I consider most of the initial work done. Apart from
fixing bugs that users will reportt, a few issues remain:
- Building bindings for multiple Python versions. I have just done this
for hivex, it is probably going to be an issue being able build with
$(builddir) != $(srcdir).
- Improving febootstrap

Proposed timetable for libguestfs 1.6
The development branch (1.5) contains some major performance
improvements over the current stable branch (1.4). Furthermore nearly
3 months have passed since we branched 1.4, which is about the same
time that separated 1.4 from 1.2.
Thus I think around the first or second week of October we ought to
start the new stable and development branches (1.6 and 1.7 resp.)
At this time we should decide

febootstrap - Arch User Repository
Arch User Repository - https://aur.archlinux.org/
have changed the package location
I am not a developer (and i dont know ocaml) but i've tried to build a patch
eg.
old location:
http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/hivex/hivex.tar.gz
new location:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/hi/hivex/hivex.tar.gz
AUR has a lot Flagged out-of-date packages so it would be nice if

Holiday
I'm going to be out of contact from next week until the beginning of
March.
libguestfs and the virt tools will obviously keep going without me,
but I'm just sending this note to say that I have put mirrors for the
following git repositories up in case the primary git repo has any
problems.

libguestfs for RHEL 6.5 preview repository
In RHEL 6.5 we are probably going to rebase libguestfs, febootstrap
and virt-v2v.
As usual when this happens, I've put up a preview repository:
http://oirase.annexia.org/tmp/libguestfs-RHEL-6.5/
If you want to use these packages, the easiest thing to do is to copy
the attached file into /etc/yum.repos.d/ and simply install or upgrade
libguestfs.
If you want to test libguestfs, obviously

libguestfs on debian squeeze
Hello all,
I tried unsuccessfully to run libguestfs on debian squeeze (with kernel
from testing) using the packages you provide here:
http://libguestfs.org/download/binaries/debian-packages/.
The output I get from libguestfs-test tool is this:

A note about hivex
I'm currently disentangling the semi-separate 'hivex' library from the
libguestfs sources, so it will become a separate upstream project.
The git URL of the new hivex project is here:
http://git.annexia.org/?p=hivex.git;a=summary
Tarballs will be released in the usual downloads directory
(http://libguestfs.org/download/) but there are none there yet. We
will also create a separate

Notes on libguestfs with Ubuntu 12.04 (Precise)
Ubuntu are now supplying a libguestfs package (or to be more accurate,
they are just copying the Debian package) but it doesn't work out of the box.
There is a bug in apt which we worked around in febootstrap 3.14, but
the supplied version of febootstap is only 3.12. Hence you will get
errors like this during installation:
febootstrap: aptitude: error: no file was downloaded corresponding
