[PATCH 0/8] v2v: first bits of Debian/Ubuntu guests supports
Hi, this series implements the first bits in v2v to convert Debian/Ubuntu (and derived) guests. The series does not complete the support (see known issues below), but all the patches here should be fit for review and inclusion. The series does not enable the conversion, yet. Known issues: * there is no grubby nor Bootloader::Tools Perl module available in Debian, so there is no way to know

[PATCH 2/7] v2v: add basic support for the "deb" package manager
Implement the 'remove', 'file_list_of_package', and 'file_owner' methods of the Linux module for the "deb" package manager (dpkg basically, on Debian and derived distributions). Also allow it for the main conversion code. --- v2v/convert_linux.ml | 2 +- v2v/linux.ml | 33 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 2 files changed, 34 insertions(+), 1

[REPOST] Use grub entries to find Linux kernels
This is a repost of the patch I sent on Friday. I know it was already ACK'd, but I've changed a fair bit in addition to adding the requested POD. Specifically: I discovered that augeas's grub lens wasn't returning cmdline the way I expected. This is fixed. The kernel package, if known, is output as a property of the kernel. The XML output of virt-inspector is updated with all

[PATCH] v2v: Fix RPM file owned test (RHBZ#1503958).
Linux.file_owner is not used by any other function, so remove it. Linux.is_file_owned is only used when removing kmod-xenpv on old RHEL releases, and so is only required to work for RPM. The old file_owner/is_file_owned functions were completely broken. This replaces them with a simpler, working implementation that only covers the narrow use case of removing kmod-xenpv non-owned directories.

[PATCH] Replace 'distrofamily' with feature tags
It turns out that the distribution hierarchy is not as reliable concept as you might think. This patch removes distrofamily again. Instead of distrofamily, we will add feature tags. This patch adds 2 feature tags for Linux distributions: package_format (eg rpm/dpkg) package_management (eg rhn/yum/apt) This change is reflected in the output of virt-inspector --- inspector/virt-inspector.pl |

[PATCH 0/3] Install QEMU-GA from oVirt guest tools ISO on Linux
This installs packages with QEMU Guest Agent when converting Linux machine. The packages should be available on guest tools ISO. The patches work "as-is" but probably deserve some more attention: - it is "abusing" Winows_virtio code but renaming/refactoring everything to remove "windows" from the name and use "guest tools" seems like a lot of unnecesary
