[PATCH] New commands to list devices by UUID and label
This isn't very well tested at the moment because my main testing machine is broken. So just for comment, only to be applied with caution. This patch has two new commands which make it much easier to look up filesystems by their UUID or label. They are: list-devices-by-uuid list-devices-by-label Each returns a hashtable (or whatever the equivalent structure is in your favourite

[PATCH 0/9] Small bits of non-Linux porting - #2
Hi, continuing what started a couple of weeks ago [1], the attached patch series continues the work in making it easier to build and run libguestfs (in fixed appliance mode) on OSes different than Linux. The provided changes should cause no functional changes on Linux. [1] https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2014-October/msg00176.html Thanks, -- Pino Pino Toscano (9): build: check

NOTE: Relaunching handles (don't do it!)
It's possible through the API to do a sequence of calls like this: g = guestfs_create (); guestfs_add_drive (g, "foo"); guestfs_launch (g); guestfs_shutdown (g); guestfs_launch (g); # relaunch the handle The question is, what should be the state of the handle at the second launch? Would the verbose flag still be set if it had been set earlier? (I think fairly

[PATCH v2 0/5] remove unused gnulib modules
This is an extended version of: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2019-September/msg00178.html It adds a couple of simple code changes, so it makes it possible to drop more modules. In addition, more unused modules were dropped. Pino Toscano (5): tests: switch away from xgetcwd daemon: move read_whole_file to common utils daemon: switch from read_file to read_whole_file daemon:

[PATCH v1 0/2] Implement guestfs_add_libvirt_dom.
This is only lightly tested at the moment. For context see: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1138203#c40 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1075143 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1075164 Note this is not a complete fix. At least one more libguestfs patch is required (to implement virDomainPtr in the python bindings). Plus a virt-manager patch. Rich.

[PATCH v3 0/6] remove unused build stuff
This is an extended version of: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2019-September/msg00288.html Apparently I forgot it on my tree, so I'm posting that series again, adding an extra cleanup more due to the v2v/common splits. [PATCH threads v2 0/5] Add support for thread-safe handle.
Previous discussion here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2015-June/thread.html#00048 v2: - Use a cleanup handler to release the lock. - Rebase to upstream. Note I have not fixed the problem(s) with error handling (patch 3).

[PATCH v3 0/5] threads: Add support for thread-safe handle.
Previously posted in 2015: v1: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2015-June/msg00048.html v2: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2015-June/msg00118.html I have rebased and tidied up the patches, fixing a few spelling mistakes, but they are broadly the same as before. I also ran all the tests, which pass. As with the previous versions, this makes a change to the API, where you

Trying to get Xilinx tools running
Hi All, I am new to wine and am trying to get the Xilinx ISE FPGA command line tools running. FYI these are gate array compiler tools for the hardware industry. Anyway, wine seems to be setup enough so that I can run notepad.exe and I also ran the Xilinx installer which only crashed at the very end when it was doing some device/usb installation, but it managed to copy all the files alright

[PATCH v2 0/3] Implement guestfs_add_libvirt_dom.
This completes the implementation on the libguestfs side, allowing python-libvirt dom pointers to be passed to guestfs_add_libvirt_dom. [PATCH v3 0/4] Implement guestfs_add_libvirt_dom.
A hopefully cleaner implementation this time. It doesn't require any special insights into how libvirt-python is implemented. Instead, it requires a change to libvirt-python to add a .c_pointer() method: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvir-list/2014-December/msg00615.html Rich.

static libgcc issue on solaris 8
Hello all, little question. Has somebody already compiled samba on SunOS 5.8 because I cannot statically link libgcc libraries. I already tried "gcc -static-libgcc", added "-lgcc_s" to LIBS variable but always the same result. Below resulted compiled binary .. # ldd bin/ntlm_auth libthread.so.1 => /usr/lib/libthread.so.1 libsendfile.so.1 =>
