[PATCH] Fix dependencies on generator.ml
This change adds an explicit dependency on generator.ml for every file it generates, except java files. Java is left for another time because it's considerably trickier. This fixes parallel make, and will automatically re-create generated files when make is run from any directory. It also fixes the problem which efad4f53 was targetting. Specifically, src/guestfs_protocol.(c|h) had an

[PATCH 2/2] daemon: Link guestfs_protocol.[ch] into the daemon directory.
I haven't received this yet, but read from the archive: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2009-November/msg00268.html The only suspicious part is the trailing ".c" on the command below: +$(libsrcdir)/guestfs_protocol.c: force + $(MAKE) -C $(libsrcdir) guestfs_protocol.c +$(libsrcdir)/guestfs_protocol.h: force + $(MAKE) -C $(libsrcdir) guestfs_protocol.c Shouldn't

[PATCH v2 1/7] lib: Share common protocol and errnostring libraries with the library and daemon.
This commit, which is just code motion, moves the common XDR protocol code (libprotocol) and the common errno handling (liberrnostring) into libraries which are each built once and shared between the library and daemon. --- .gitignore | 20 +++++-------- Makefile.am | 1 + common/errnostring/Makefile.am | 45 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

[PATCH v7 13/13] daemon: Link guestfsd with libutils.
After the previous refactoring, we are able to link the daemon to common/utils, and also remove some of the "duplicate" functions that the daemon carried ("duplicate" in quotes because they were often not exact duplicates). Also this removes the duplicate reimplementation of (most) cleanup functions in the daemon, since those are provided by libutils now. It also allows us in

[PATCH v3 3/5] daemon: Added internal_filesystem_walk command
The internal_filesystem_walk command walks through the FS structures of a disk partition and returns all the files or directories which could be found. The command is able to retrieve information regarding deleted or unaccessible files where other commands such as stat or find would fail. The gathered list of tsk_dirent structs is serialised into XDR format and written to a file by the

[PATCH] renamed daemon/tsk.c to daemon/sleuthkit.c
In order to support the new features I am renaming the file with a better name. The file sleuthkit.c will contain the code depending on the sleuthkit package. The original tsk.c file will contain the logic built using libtsk which is the sleuthkit core library. This patch is ready for review. Code available at: https://github.com/noxdafox/libguestfs/tree/sleuthkit_rename Signed-off-by: Matteo

using gnulib from daemon/
Hi Rich, Prompted by your "New commands to list devices by UUID and label" patch, I've adjusted it to use gnulib. While just compiling hash.[ch] is probably ok, in general (given the strict requirements of libguestfs) using the C files of a module is usually not an option, since you don't get the benefit of the module's m4 tests or automake snippets. For other modules,

Some fixes for building the Debian package for 1.20.2
I needed to add a few patches to be able to build libguestfs 1.20.2 out of tree. Mostly srcdir/builddir issues -- I think that I had posted something for building the daemon before. As mentioned on IRC, I found that compiling (Ruby bindings) caused config.h file shipped with the Ruby headers to be included rather than ${builddir}/config.h. This can be fixed because the relevant checks can be

[PATCH 02/27] daemon: Allow parts of the daemon and APIs to be written in OCaml.
This change allows parts of the daemon to be written in the OCaml programming language. I am using the ‘Main Program in C’ method along with ‘-output-obj’ to create an object file from the OCaml code / runtime, as described here: https://caml.inria.fr/pub/docs/manual-ocaml/intfc.html Furthermore, change the generator to allow individual APIs to be implemented in OCaml. [PATCH] daemon: reorder internal static libs to fix linking
Move the interal static libraries as the last items in the list of libraries of guestfsd, to make sure their symbols are used for all the other libraries. This is because GCC resolves the symbols looking at the arguments from the beginning to the end of the command line. This currently does not cause failures, however it "just works" because of the tricky situation set up. The
