The icelandic character thorn (??,??) which is included in in the Latin-1 character set [iso/8859-1 char# 222 (upper case) and #254 (lower case)] prints out incorrectly. On the other hand, ls will replace such chars with a question mark. Upon inspection, it appears to be fairly simple to also do this in rsync (in the rwrite() function). Here's a patch. Opinions?
