[PATCH 0/5] generator: daemon: Various simplifications to stubs code.
This is a series of simplifications to the stubs code. It's all refactoring, there is no functional change. Rich.

total warning-removal for daemon/
The warnings in daemon were aggravating and risky for development (too easy to miss new ones) so I spent some time last week and today working on removing them. The first patch gets us down to almost no warnings with the original -Wall setting. That was by far the hardest part. Once I'd done that, I enabled nearly all of gcc's warnings via gnulib's warnings and manywarnings modules

[PATCH 0/23] factor and const-correctness
This started as a simple warning-elimination change. I'll get back to that series shortly ;-) It turned into a factorization and constification exercise during which I got a taste of ocaml. Thanks to Rich Jones for help with a few snippets in generator.ml. The overall result is that many previously-manually-maintained bits from daemon/*.c functions are now hoisted into the automatically-

[PATCH v7 13/13] daemon: Link guestfsd with libutils.
After the previous refactoring, we are able to link the daemon to common/utils, and also remove some of the "duplicate" functions that the daemon carried ("duplicate" in quotes because they were often not exact duplicates). Also this removes the duplicate reimplementation of (most) cleanup functions in the daemon, since those are provided by libutils now. It also allows us in

[PATCH 1/2] Convert all TABs-as-indentation to spaces.
Per discussion on IRC, here are two changes to convert all TABs-as-indentation to spaces. The first one is the fully-automated conversion. However, note that the command mentioned uses a file (the .x-sc* one) that is added only in the following patch. The second patch adds rules to help keep things that way: Document and enforce the new spaces-only indentation policy. * cfg.mk

[PATCH 0/6] Allow non-optargs functions to gain optional arguments.
This rather complex set of patches allow non-optargs functions to gain optional arguments, while preserving source and binary backwards compatibility. The problem is that we cannot add an optional argument to an existing function. For example, we might want to add flags to the 'lvresize' API which currently has no optional arguments.

From: "Richard W.M. [PATCH 0/3] generator: Allow returned strings to be annotated as devices.
If we want to permit more than 255 drives to be added, then we will have to add the disks to the same virtio-scsi target using different unit (LUN) numbers. Unfortunately SCSI LUN enumeration in the Linux is not deterministic (eg. two disks with target=0, lun=[0,1] can be enumerated as /dev/sda or /dev/sdb randomly). Dealing with that will require some very complex device name translation on the

[PATCH v2] python: add simple wrappers for PyObject<->string functions
The current need for #ifdef's based on the presence of PyString_FromString makes both the OCaml code of the generator, and the generated C code a mess to read. Hence, add three simple wrappers to make both the OCaml, and C code more readable, and easier to tweak in the future. --- generator/python.ml | 72 ++++++++++++----------------------------------------- python/handle.c | 65

[PATCH 3/6] daemon: Refine check for Device and Dev_or_Path parameters (RHBZ#1477623).
For Device parameters we expect a block device name. However we were only testing for "/dev/..." and so chardevs (from the appliance) could be passed here, resulting in strange effects. This adds a function is_device_parameter which tests for a valid block device name. For Dev_or_Path parameters much the same, except we can also use the is_device_parameter function elsewhere in the
