wine's iexplore: application protocols ?
I too had been wondering how certain applications manage to register custom protocols that indeed belong to them as when compared to the usual http we all know. Now correct me if I am wrong but it seems to me that Custom protocols do work in any kind of Wine applications.

wine's iexplore: application protocols ?
I have a question, some applications register their own "custom protocols", instead of http: it can be for example skype: or skp: . Google SketchUp for example uses skp: to communicate between javascript in webdialogs and its Ruby scripting language. At the moment, I have installed Microsoft's IE8 (otherwise I haven't got it to work). For various reasons I would prefer

Hello... Just yesterday, I decided to give the current wine in cvs another try (I was using the monthly version that came out a week ago before that) -- and it seems thing's gotten better as IEXPLORE.EXE *works* (it did in the monthly version, but I hadn't seen it run successfully on wine-cvs before) (last time I installed IE using http://www.frankscorner.org/index.php?p=ie6 method

How Functional is Wine's IE supposed to be?
I haven't said much about this, but Wine's Internet Explorer has never really worked as web browser. I understand that the main purpose of Wine's Internet Explorer isn't to be a web browser, but to make Windows programs that require MS IE work. That said, one of the Wine 1.4 release criteria is "Builtin iexplore, Gecko". So I figured I should ask, "How functional
