Wine is using onboard graphic card instead of the "real" one
hi,
I'm trying for some time to get a few games to run and it seems like Wine wants to use my onboard graphic card (ATI HD 3200) instead of my ATI HD 5670. The reason i think that is a) sometimes when launching Starcraft 2 it tells me that the driver for my graphics card HD3200 is out of date and that i should update, and b) i found this when i tried launching Natural Selection 2.:

City of Heroes / wine not identifying NVIDIA video card
I've been using wine for some time now to play City of Heroes and overall I've been very satisfied. One issue that has always bothered me is that COH gives a warning about outdated video card drivers even with the most recent drivers from NVIDIA installed. This limits the settings that can be chosen in the video options. I also suspect it's not making the most efficient use of my

Wine & Prince of Persia Warrior Within
Hi, I have a Compaq Presario R3000 with Ubuntu 10.04 and Wine 1.2.2, and I installed Prince of Persia Warrior Within and when I try to run it it detects hardware but my graphics card is detected wrong unsupported; I have an NVidia GeForce4 440 Go 64M and in Wine appears as a NVidia GeForce 256 and is unsupported. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks.

460 GTX performance on SC 2
Hello,
I'm trying to play SC2 with the following setup, and it's only playable with the lowest settings. I think I've already put in most of the tweaks that people typically point to.
Can I get advice on how I can get reasonable fps for higher settings?
Here's my setup:
GTX 460 1GB
Intel Q6600 2.40ghz Quadcore
3gb memory
nvidia 260.19.06
wine 1.3.3

Lockups ENGT430 (NVc0), failed to unbind.
Twice in a little over a week, nouveau has locked up on my system
with an Asus ENGT430 that is "Detected [as] an NVc0 generation
card (0x0c1080a1)" at boot time. OS is Mageia 2, kernel
3.4.45-server-1.mga2. At the time of both lockups, I had a
couple dozen Firefox windows plus several other miscellaneous
windows open.
Here are the some snippets from /var/log/messages a few days

GTX-560 in v3.6
Hi,
I am running a GTX-560 with nouveau driver, or at least I try to, and
I dont get it working... I have seen that in the Xorg.log.0 appears
the chipset family, but I don't know why it isn't working.
I attach the Xorg.log.0 and the dmesg output,
Thank you!,

Problem with kernels 3.15.0-rc and GF114 [GeForce GTX 560 Ti] (rev a1)
On the slipstream box I have no problems with 3.14.0 kernel.
With 3.15.0-rc kernels, in KDE some applications fail to start - e.g
kmix, some like thunderbird come up but are not usable, e.g clicking to
display a message text, nothing happens and sometimes screens won't switch.

Problem with kernels 3.15.0-rc and GF114 [GeForce, GTX 560 Ti] (rev a1) **FIXED**
Whatever the problem was, kernel 3.15.0-rc5 fixed it.
I am not in a position to do a git bisect at present.

Sid.

SOLVED: World of Warcraft d3d crash and rendring problems
Hi wine people,
with some help from the Nvidia forum I managed to solve a problem with World of Warcraft 4.x.x that I suspect is directX / Wine related:
Enabling -d3d9 and -d3d11 would cause the below mentioned problem with Wine 1.2.2, while it would crash World of Warcraft program under Wine 1.3.15 (Ubuntu 11.04 debs), while OpenGL runs perfectly (30-60 fps with all opengl settings on ultra):

GF114 [GeForce GTX 560 Ti] (rev a1) slow and flickering display
I recently replaced a 8600 GT with the above card on openSUSE Tumbleweed
x86_64.
The screen now flickers and when I change desktops it takes a some 10 to
15 seconds to display the new windows.
e.g if I change from desktop 1 (konsole) to desktop 8 (thunderbird) it
switches but konsole is displayed for 10 to 15 seconds before
thunderbird appears.
Occasionally the screen flickers wildly before
