Spotify doesn't work anymore
Spotify has been perfect since I started using it with Wine, until today. When I started the program I was offline all the time, so I tried reinstalling Wine and Spotify. Now I get to the log in screen, but can't get past it. This is the information I get: Code: fixme:toolhelp:CreateToolhelp32Snapshot Unimplemented: heap list snapshot fixme:advapi:RegisterEventSourceW

No Sound in Spotify with WINE
Apologies if you have also seen this post on the Ubuntu Wine forum, as I have cross posted it there. I hope this is not bad form, but I wished to have the best chance of getting some assistance as possible. Spotify has suddenly stopped working for me. It used to work fine about a month ago. The only recent change is that I have upgraded Ubuntu to 10.10 (previously I had 10.04) I don't think

Starnge error message when trying to run Spotify with Wine
Hi, I've installed Spotify in Linux following the instructions at spotify.com. When I try to start it through wine I get a strange message and Spotify won't open at all. This is how it looks: http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/8069/wineerrormsg.png Does anyone know that this strange "error"-message is trying to say? I'm running Linux Slitaz on an old Compaq Armada 100S,

More on the Linux Spotify player
There is an article in The Register about the Spotify player for Linux: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/07/13/spotify_does_linux/ It gives a download URL if you want to try Spotify for Linux and says why the player is currently restricted to Premium accounts (because it doesn't handle adverts). Re: No Sound in Spotify with WINE
Upgrading stock Wine 1.2 which ships with Ubuntu 10.10 to Wine 1.3 Beta had now fixed audio playback in Spotify. See http://www.winehq.org/download/deb for upgrade instructions.

Compiling wine: no sound system, etc.
Hello all... I'm trying to compile wine 1.3.21 on my Linux Mint Debian Edition machine, because I'm tired of the antique version available from the repositories. Unfortunately, ./configure always ends with a bunch of WARNINGs and I'm not sure what to do about them. Here's the list it gives me: Code: configure: libxcursor development files not found, the Xcursor extension won't

Forward-Compatibility with Ubuntu 11.04 (10.10 Netbook) plus
After testing some wine apps on Ubuntu 11.04 A2 today, and using 10.10 NE in previous weeks, I've notice a few issues that may hinder the use of Wine on this OS. These are mostly aesthetic and ease of use, but are worth noting in any case. 1: Removal of Notification Area/System Tray For those who aren't aware, 11.04 and 10.10N used the new Unity interface, instead of the legacy GNOME GUI.

DVDSubEdit 1.51
I'm trying to run 'DVDSubEdit 1.51' with 'wine 1.2.2' on 'Ubuntu 10.04 desktop 32 bit'. After launching 'winecfg' I added 'DVDSubEdit' and chose 'Windows 98'. From a terminal I gave the following comands: utente at utente-desktop:~$ cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Programmi utente at utente-desktop:~/.wine/drive_c/Programmi$ wine DVDSubEdit.exe

[PATCH 00/10] dib/API: improvements and fixes
Hi, this patch series does changes mostly in virt-dib, few bug fixes and a couple of new features (mostly implemented upstream already).
