low-bitrate streams and pure Java Ogg Vorbis player
Hi there, I have developed pure Java Ogg Vorbis decoder, JOrbis. By the recent improvements on JOribs, its 'simple' player, JOrbisPlayer, will enable you to enjoy low-bitrate/mono streams on the web browser with J2SE 1.3(or later)Plug-in; Java plug-in; I have provided digitally signed JOrbisPlayer at http://www.jcraft.com/jorbis/player/JOrbisPlayer.php # This signed applet is signed

Vorbis streams on Windows Media Player
I would be in the same ballpark as you, Ross. We are looking at icecast2/ices as a replacement for our RealAudio streams, as the licenses we have will expire VERY soon, and we frankly don't have the money to go dump on new ones. We're looking at serving literally thousands of listeners, most of which have RealPlayer installed at home or at work, but have never heard or played with WinAmp,

Radio player for FirefoxOS
Hi, again, is there any URL where I could POST to suggest streams for dir.xiph.org? My users are demanding the ability to add their own stations to the app: https://marketplace.firefox.com/app/world-radio-player/ratings I would like to use their input (with their explicit consent) to push data about new streams to dir.xiph.org. mac player for ogg streams
Hi, I have 2 Icecast2 servers set-up (1 unix and 1 win32) that I have been testing with live streams using Oddcast. I can get the stream playing in Winamp no problems but on the Vorbis.com site it suggests that Macamp supports streaming : "A MacOS vorbis player that has highly integrated streaming features." Although it doesnt say it specifically supports ogg, and as it happens it

mac player for ogg streams
Things to check out... MintAudio (http://mint.unsanity.com/) says it has Ogg Vorbis support, but I don't know about streaming. Unsanity Echo also lists Ogg Vorbis support (http://www.unsanity.com/echo.php). I'd check it out, but I'm on a slow connection right now. BTW, http://macosx.forked.net/ has MacOS X ports of libogg, libvorbis, icecast, mpg123 and xmms. On Thursday,

Frauenhofer signing off on mp3, ogg stream player for Macs?
Encoding not being part of Icecast, I reckon this is indeed off-topic; but to close the thread, it does seem to be the case that mp3 encoding is now license free. "MP3 is supported by everything, everywhere, and is now patent-free. There has never been another audio format as widely supported as MP3, it's good enough for almost anything, and now, over twenty years since it took the

Its seem to be ok in here. Also, i would suggest giving http://jplayer.org/ a try, provides fallback solutions as well as customization options and large active community. question about icecast & winamp & media player
Ahah! I knew I was not the only person who has experienced this with winamp. The problem here is winamp 2.7. It seems that when I tuned into my shoutcast servers (when I ran shoutcast) with winamp 2.7 the longest period I could hold a stream was a little more then an hour. No matter what I did it would bit the dust. There was some discussion about this on the shoutcast broadcaster list, but no one

ISO Website-embedded Ogg player
Since Flash has MP3 support built in, it is possible to create a Flash movie that will play a streaming MP3 file. This is useful for when someone wants to have a radio broadcast using MP3 files and they want to create a flash "applet" for playing the broadcast, which could keep the viewer/listener still attached to the website to enjoy other content at the same time. Perhaps such a

Help with Icecast / streaming to Windows Media player
Hi - I'm a "streaming" newbie. I've recently configured Icecast (v2.2) with Ices (v0.4) to stream a playlist of MP3 files. When a user with iTunes as their default media player connects to this stream (http://www.barsuk.com:8000/barsukradio.m3u), it works just fine. However, if a user has Windows Media player as their default media player, WM seems to get stuck

This is turning a bit into a hate-thread against Airtime. Personally, I am not much of a hater (although sometimes I make exceptions, depending on how my day is), but I will say that Airtime is a pain-to-maintain on your server. It's pretty bloated as well; correct me if I'm wrong (this dates back to when I tried it with version 1.5 and 1.6 and 2.0 was in the works) - Zend PHP framework

Frauenhofer signing off on mp3, ogg stream player for Macs?
Rather off topic, but I wonder if this means MP3 encoding is now licence free and encoders can be included in commercial software with no licence. -----Original Message----- From: Icecast [mailto:icecast-bounces at xiph.org] On Behalf Of Jack Elliott Sent: Tuesday, 16 May 2017 9:46 a.m. To: Icecast streaming server user discussions Subject: [Icecast] Frauenhofer signing off on mp3, ogg stream

perfect html player for Icacast ?
You do not need a "perfect player"- almost all media players can stream audio, too. What you need is to save the playlist (.m3u by default) and tell your media player to play that.
