Re: dot matrix POS parallel printer problems
I'm thinking for replacing my current printer that I use with my POS systems (http://possolutions.multiply.com/). What do you think is the best brand out there? Thanks.

Re: dot matrix POS parallel printer problems
The TM U950 is a 2.5 station printer highly suitable for POS applications with its 40 columns of receipt/journal printing per station and 86 columns of slip.
This printer's user friendly features and compact design add to its flexibility.
Featuring optional check printing and endorsement capabilities, the TM U950 prints one original and four copies for added convenience. [Embarassed] :P

Print to POS printer
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello,
I've been searching teh web but I don't find a clear solution for this:
The program I am running needs to print a bill to a remote printer
(attached to a IBM NC 2200) compatible with EPSON TM-U210D. How can I
avoid the WINEPS.DRV? Can I use the driver that works fine in Windows
(tm300s.drv)?
Thanks a lot.

HELP!!! Problems with Hidden dot files
Hi all,
I am having a real bizarre problem with Samba 2.2.2 on Solaris 8. I have
set up the smb.conf to share all user's home folders, and want to ensure
that all dot files are visible. The problem I am having is that the dot
files all appear except for one specific one (which happens to be the exact
file that is needed!). I can see it when I telnet, but not using Samba.
The dot file is a

hiding dot files and the printer
Hi. Running Samba 3.0.20 on Slackware 10.2.
I cannot hide my unix dot files (.bash_history) using the 'hide files' or
'veto files' settings:
hide files = /.*/ { or just .* }
Also, how do I get rid of the printer folder in the top level of my share?

WINSPOOL_EnumPrinters Found 0 printers one system with 1 parallel CUPS printer
I've had this problem for a while, but only recently have I realized
that I better fix it soon!
I compile my own Wine out of git. Currently, I'm running
wine-0.9.29-g5441536 but this issue appeared long before that.
Moreover, I stopped being able to print between Wine updates, so I
don't think it is anything to do with changes in Wine's code.
The simplest way to reproduce my

Parallel printer error
Hello folks:
The introduction:
Great product this Samba!
The problem:
I am trying to migrate an HP LaserJet 4 printer in our office off a VMS system
and hang it directly off the back of a UNIX machine. I have created the new
entry in the printcap (see below) file on that machine and can print from UNIX -
no problem. I created the share in Samba with what I think works pretty well
(see below).

Linux printer share for NT 4.0 clients..
Hello,
I'm a samba novice ;(
Saw your "detailed" responses to another newbie questions so I thought I
give you a shout :)
Here is my setup:
I've got 2 Linux boxes. One is running Ypserv and handles the
authentication, the other is a 486 33mhz running ypbind(slave) and it
is my printserver. The print server is also running 1.9.18 samba
release as a daemon (smbd -D).

LAYOUT=fs still uses 'dot' prefixes for folders
running latest dovecot HEAD, per,
http://wiki.dovecot.org/MailLocation/Maildir
i've set LAYOUT=fs,
dovecot -n| grep -i layout
mail_location: maildir:/data/mail:LAYOUT=fs
and expect,
maildirs to actually use physical directories, such as:
* Maildir/folder/
* Maildir/folder/subfolder/
but, autocreate at login creates folders using "dot" prefixes, e.g.,

Dot plot of character and numeric matrix
Dear List,
I have a set of data which looks like this (small set of sample)
A A 0.431
A A 0.439
A A 0.507
A G 0.508
A A 0.514
I will like to use this data to plot a dot plot, with the X-axis being of type character, and my y axis of type numeric.
When I try to use the dot chart function, I get the error message "'x' must be a numeric vector or matrix", which I can understand

PrintPreview extremely slow with Samba network printers
I am using Microsoft .NET (2.0) PrintPreviewDialog to
preview reports, and all works well when the Windows
default printer is set to a local printer or a
network printer on a Windows server, but if I set it
to a Samba network printer, it slows down to a
crawl. With a Windows server network printer, it
takes about 10 seconds to render 100 pages. With a
Samba network printer, it takes over 5
