Printing Setup
I have two Ubuntu Linux installations, one 9.04 and one 9.10, both with WINE 1.1.31. I have a networked printer, an HP Photosmart C-5100. Aps in WINE on the 9.04 machine print perfectly. Nothing prints in WINE using the 9.10 install of Ubuntu. when I check the printer setup I see this: STATUS: Dummy State TYPE: Dummy Type WHERE: Dummy Location COMMENT: Dummy Remark Oh, I can print fine with

RSAT Print Management won't show shared printers under the "Printers" section
Hai Tomas, And Marc thank for having a look also. @ Tomas, now i think you setup is ok, but review it based on my setup below. Now, i am using samba 4.6.8 here, but this is working as of 4.2.x. There where a few small problems, i just cant recall exact what these where. If you want to stay in the 4.5 line, then its an option to try my 4.5.14 package if needed. I did some testing also, my

Mis-behavior of ldap.conf regarding nss?
Hello all, I run a samba 3.0.26a-1ubuntu2.3 on an Ubuntu 7.10 server with OpenLDAP both for samba and for posix accounts. Everything runs fine, except for one problem. I have a ou=People-inactive branch on my ldap server on wich I store (guess what?) inactive people. I don't want my system to recognize those entries as valid users, so I set my /etc/ldap.conf as follows:

r-base installation fails on Ubuntu 14.04
I am unable to install R on an up to date (i.e. apt upgraded) Ubuntu 14.04 system. According to https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/ubuntu/README (and many other sources), R is available for this version of Ubuntu (which is a stable version). I currently have deb https://cran.cnr.berkeley.edu/bin/linux/ubuntu trusty/ in sources.list. I've tried this with and without deb

Windows port
Hi! I would like to ask about current state of Windows port. Is it frozen? It will be cool to know the plans :) Where are a lot of Windows-branches at GitHub. What is the most actual one? The Windows builder looks like turned off, am I right that it is not available currently and where were no builds after version 2.6.5-6? I couldn't find any info about proper environment to build Windows

Direct rendering disabled - apparently common on 64bit
I'm running Debian Squeeze on an ASUS UL30VT with a GeForce G210M, using the 2.6.32-5-amd64 kernel. Obviously I'm on a 64bit system. I've been trying to get World of Warcraft to run, but I just can't get it to start. I'm using the non-free nvidia driver and I followed the howto at http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers while installing it. According to glxinfo I do in

r-base installation fails on Ubuntu 14.04
I can make a few suggestions to help you hunt for the issue. This kind of error is often caused by conflicting packages from proposed, backports, ppas, or other 3rd party repos. If for some reason you have a dependency installed from one of those sources that is newer than what R on cran was built against (stock ubuntu 14.04) then you will hit a conflict. Simply removing backports from your repos

Possibly off the wall and a long shot, but is pre-installed Linux perhaps 32 bit, while the R attempt is 64? repository for mod_security
I want to add mod_security to my Apache server running CentOS 5.3 and am trying to find a repository to get it from. I found it in EPEL, but they have version 2.1.7, which is over a year old according to what I found on the modsecurity.org website. Is there a repository which is keeping this up to date? Or should I just build it from source? -- Bowie

Install vTPM on Xen-4.2.2
Hi, I‘m trying to install vTPM based on Xen-4.2.2, linux-kernel 3.9.1 (Dom0) and TPM emulator. However, I cannot find the TPM backed driver in this version of Dom0 linux kernel. There is no CONFIG_XEN_TPMDEV_BACKEND in the kernel config file. The config file for Dom0 is attached. Maybe it provides some useful information. So, how to install a Xen TPM backend driver in the Dom0 linux-kernel.

That could do it http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty-backports/libcgmanager0 Seems to be libc related, which is a pretty core library to much of the whole system. Hmm, which model Dell? We just got a Dell 5000 series with Ubuntu, I have not checked with my boss if there was R installation issues.
