Cannot open .exe files using Terminal
I downloaded Darwine stable 1.0.1 and installed it. I went to /Applications/Darwine/Wine.bundle/Contents/bin and double-clicked on "wine" Then I went to Terminal and went to the directory for GTA2. I typed "GTA2.exe." The process installed GTA2. I went to /Users/brianlee/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Rockstar Games/GTA2 in Finder and double-clicked on GTA2.exe and only a weird

Newbie - missing cursor and unresponsive to input
Hello everyone, I have just discovered wine and have to try it, but I am running into problems that I can't google my way out of. I installed wine-1.1.12 using yum on my quad cpu (Nvidia 9500gt, usb qwerty keyboard and mouse) running fedora10 (2.6.27.12-170.2.5.fc10.x86_64) and as a test, I decided to use GTA2 (download). After the install, I copied

Strange behavior using .Fortran
Hello everybody, I observed some strange behavior of R (0.64.1/Linux 2.0.25) when trying to use FORTRAN-libraries. I downloaded "ALGORITHM AS 304" from StatLib. All I changed at the code, was to substitute "REAL"-routines by "DOUBLE PRECISION". Compiling went o.k. ... > g77 -fpic -O2 -shared -o rtest.o fisher.f ("g77 --version" gives 2.7.2.1)

Games: Grand Theft Auto 2 / DirectX 6.1 support?
Hi all, I've checked the archives and can't find anything regarding the above so here goes: Has anyone had any luck getting GTA2 or other games that require DirectX 6.1 support working under Wine so far? I used to keep a Win95 partition on my machine specifically for this game, but recently my second disk died and I need the space for my Linux installation. Any help appreciated.

How do I test against a simple null that two regressions coefficients are equal?
Hi there, I run two regressions: y = a1 + b1 * x + e1 y = a2 + b2 * z + e2 I want to test against the null hypothesis: b1 = b2. How do I design the test? I think I can add two equations together and divide both sides by 2: y = 0.5*(a1+a2) + 0.5*b1 * x + 0.5*b2 * z + e3, where e3 = 0.5*(e1 + e2). or just y = a3 + 0.5*b1 * x + 0.5*b2 * z + e3 If I run this new regression, I can test against

I meant to mention that the DTMF tones and dialtone sound like they're played at such a high volume that they clip through the handset's speaker. Queues Announce help request.
I am trying to get a queue to do more than just play music and hold calls. Specifically, making some "comforting" voice announcements would be nice. Below is the queues.conf file relevant portions. Member phone number is munged to protect the guilty. We shouldn't need the announcement source info, but I have been trying everything. The problem is with the member busy, we get no

Only Accept Call After Pressing a Key '#' or '*'
I would like asterisk to dial an extension or external number but for the call to only be connected after the called party presses a key. Therefore been able to announce the call to the called party before answering. I have had this working on queued calls but want to incorporate this for standard dialled extensions. Our use for this would to be able to divert a call to a users mobile but only

AJAX Event Handlers, like shift key pressing...
Hey everyone, I thought I''d seen a demo of an AJAX app that responded to control key presses, like performing a different action when the shift key is pressed. What I''d really like to do is have a div change when the shift key is pressed (to change the text of the link inside it to indicate what new action will occur when that link is clicked with shift held down). Newbie question about pressing a key to, be connected to the caller
Jon, thanks for your help, but I'd rather not do it using agents and queues, ideally what would happen is it would simply play the message and wait for the person to press a button, if nothing is pressed, it just keeps going down the list. Any other suggestions? asterisk-users-request@lists.digium.com wrote: > Date: Wed, 15 Jun 2005 00:53:14 -0500 > From: Jon Gabrielson

Paravirt-ops next steps
So it's gotten a bit confusing to figure out how we should go about upstreaming the rest of our patches. Our patchkit in the paravirt-ops tree currently applies to 2.6.19-rc4-mm2, but there are a number of conflicts that got resolved when merging into Andi's i386 tree. What is the best way to sanitize the remaining patches so they smoothly integrate into the appropriate trees?

How to interrupt a loop by pressing a key?
Hello, Does anyone know a way of interrupting a loop by pressing a key (besides ctrl-c)? My problem is the following: I have a machine acquiring data and saving text files into a directory. I have an R script that read those files, process them and plots the results. What I would like to do is: process the data as the files appear in the folder (I've done that do with a loop that checks

Do you know how much of this increase is due to co-allocating Use arrays with their users, and how much is due to the actual shrinking of
