Installing R-2.15.2 in Debian Wheezy/Testing
The current version of R that is available in Wheezy is 2.15.1. However,
version 2.15.2 is available at CRAN sites. The site I use is
http://cran.case.edu/bin/linux/debian which states:
'If you want to have up to date R on wheezy I propose to directly

Unable to install R 3.1.2 on Debian:Testing
Dear Johannes, R-sig-debian list,
Along with Dirk Eddelbuettel I've been maintaining Debian-based Docker
containers for R. Recently our container installing r-base has started to
fail. This seems to be due to a problem with the libjpeg dependencies. The
example I show below was working with debian:jessie on Jan 5th, but has
been failing since then.

clean wheezy, R intrigue, squeeze-cran3 requires liblzma2?
Hi.
On the release version of Debian Wheezy, I am missing symbols for left and
right brackets in plotmath. Anybody see similar trouble while reviewing
demo(plotmath)?
This is a completely clean, fresh install. I've not installed any peculiar
libraries or packages, except R, the installation of which still puzzles
me.
I configured a CRAN mirror for packages using squeeze-cran3 folder, and

Serial Passthrough broken in Debian Wheezy?
Hello,
I just discovered a strange bug with serial passthrough in xen 4.1 on
Debian Wheezy. The Dom0 has a GSM modem connected to serial port. The
serial port is passed through to a DomU with options 'irq = [ 4 ]' and
'ioports = [ '3f8-3ff ]'.
This worked as expected on Debian Squeeze with Xen 4.0 and Linux kernel
2.6.32 (both for Dom0 and DomU). On Debian Wheezy with Xen

Bug#681376: Xen hypervisor package not upgraded on dist-upgrade Squeeze to Wheezy
Package: src:xen
Severity: important
Version: 4.1.3~rc1+hg-20120614.a9c0a89c08f2-2
I recently upgrade from Squeeze to Wheezy on a system which had the
xen-linux-system-686-pae metapackage (one of two which Provides:
xen-linux-system). After dist-upgrade I had the new xen-utils-common and
xenstore-utils (and a few others) but not the xen-utils-4.1 or
xen-hypervisor-4.1-i386 or xen-hypervisor-amd64

Raspbian (being derived from Debian) is not a problem.
The old base distribution (wheezy) is a problem.

[HowTo] Installing Samba and sssd on Debian Wheezy (with manual backport)
Hi everyone,
A couple of weeks ago I wanted to install Samba and sssd on a Debian
Wheezy server. The Samba version from the wheezy-backports repo looks
and feels fairly well packaged by now and is updated to the upstream
version, so in my opinion that's the way to go. As regards sssd, I
wanted a version supporting the AD backend (the one in the Wheezy
repos doesn't), so I backported it

slow or freeze execution in debian wheezy with xen 4.1.3
Hello,
This is my first post to the list, thanks in advance for the help. I
started with xen recently and I have some problems.
I have installed version xen 4.3.1 on debian wheezy.
I have a problem of execution time between two guests. One of them
takes longer to execute commands. And sometimes it seems that it
freezes.
Both machines are installed with LVM. The difference between them is

Clients unable to get group policy...
Ok, so if i understand right,
your sysvol is on a shared folder which is a debian squeeze server.
i think you problem is that the needed acl cant be set on the queeze server.
and why not systemd, since gentoo also does systemd
https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Systemd
and if you really want, just run your install with
preseed/late_command="in-target apt-get install -y sysvinit-core"

Broken rsync mirroring for PuppetLabs APT repo
Hi,
I have sent this mail to info@puppetlabs.com and received no answer, so
I''m posting here as well; I hope somebody at PuppetLabs will be able to
help.
I have a local mirror of apt.puppetlabs.com which has been broken for at
least a few days: the apt/dists/ subdirectory only contains symlinks to
non-existent files.

Debian Wheezy samba 4.6.2 packages. ( amd64 and i386)
Hai,
Fist.. i start with a BIG THANK YOU to Achim Gottinger for making these samba wheezy packages and sharing them.
Achim created the samba 4.6.2 packages and i did a rebuild and checkup of these.
I have uploaded the packages in my apt repo and to the download location.
Achim already applied the following to bug fixed:
