I'm starting with a fresh WINEPREFIX. There is nothing else installed there, and no changes in winecfg. Windows version is set to XP. First couple trys, running Wine 1.2.2 from the Ubuntu repositories:

compiling Wine with GCC
Hey, A question of a Tux/Wine Newbie. There's a how-to using Xfire with wine in the appdb, I shall compile it from source using GCC-4.5. But I only know how to compile a single file with it or using the standard 'make' command, how it's shown in the Wine-Wiki. I googled for a tutorial, but didn't found anything. Can anyone help me with it giving a small help? In thanks, CF

Latest Pidgin update problem
A while back I added the pidgin repo to my yum configuration and installed pidgin. it has automatically updated itself a time or two since without trouble. but now that Pidgin 2.1.0 is out, it won't update properly. Yum finds a couple of libpurple packages to update as well as pidgin-devel, but not the pidgin package itself: --> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please
