error opening winecfg
I updated my distro from Fedora 10 to Fedora 11 yesterday. I did not
update wine because the version it wants to use is 1.1.23 and I remember
several posts of people having trouble with either .23 or .24.
All of my games and office/work programs run fine through wine, but the
wine cfg window will not start up. I get:
ALSA lib seq_hw.c:457:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: No

Ventrilo crash error - related to winecfg error?
I have checked the db before posting and I think I have tried everything
listed there.
Using Fedora 11, wine 1.1.20 (newest in their repository except .23).
All sound works - including in Vent until it crashes. Vent starts up, I
can connect to a server, I hear the connection sounds, and then I get a
'had an error, shutting down' box and it crashes.
Running from terminal I get:

winecfg Audio tab crash - OS X Snow Leopard
Hi all,
I built Wine 1.2-RC3 via Macports today on my Macbook Pro, running OS X 10.6.3. Just noticed a problem I've never had before - whenever I run winecfg and click on the Audio tab, Wine crashes. Thought it might have been something weird in my ~/.wine, but I tried with a fresh Wine prefix and still had the same problem. Any ideas?
Sample output follows:
WINEPREFIX=~/.winetest1 winecfg

Let Wine program pop up URL links in default browser, NOT IE
A few versions back, when one of my wine'd program needed to show an URL page, it (through Wine of course) sent that link to my default browser (Firefox) in Linux. It worked like this until version 1.1.35. Starting with 1.1.36, it pops up an IE window instead, which doesn't work on the URL and I don't want. Is there a way to reset its behavior so that the link is sent to my Firefox?

Installing wine on an Asus EEEPC 901
I am trying to install wine on an Asus EEEPC 901. Every thing goes as
expected until I receive the following FATAL error.
What is the problem and what can I do about it?
If I then try winecfg I receive the error messages further down.
winefile appears to behave correctly but iexplorer remains blank even
after Gecko is installed. Notepad appears to work ok.

I have a macro that fails in Word, are there any work-arounds, alternate
dlls etc that can be suggested to get it going? Is there any forum
dedicated to getting these going?

winecfg problem
I installed wine version 0.9.24 and winetools on my computer (OpenSuse
10.2) but I can't get it to configure at all. I first tried winetools
and it said that I didn't have a configuration so run with the command
wt. So I typed wt and nothing happened. Heres where I think the main
problem lies though.
When I attempt to do winecfg I get a ton of errors. Here is the output:

Reinstalling gecko after failed install
Hi, after I updated to wine 1.5 and launched winecfg, it tried to download and install new version of gecko. I use wine built as wine-wow so it tried to install both 32 and 64 versions. But it failed in one of them, control.exe crashed. I then tried to install gecko from msi packages using msiexec, but the problem is msiexec is not aware of wow configuration. It installs both versions to the same

I realize these are game related questions, but they directly relate

I've used the search to no avail...I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 on an AMD64. I have Wine version 1.1.22, and it seems to have installed ok. I can run winecfg no problem, and also notepad from the applications menu, which is really the only test I know how to do.
