Allison Smith, Music-on-Hold Parody--outstanding.
Allison Smith just created a hysterical parody music on hold Parody. Whatever you were doing, stop, and dial this number to listen to it: 360-519-5689. 2 minutes. I just gave her a few ideas, but she took it and ran with it--she chose the audio and did the mix-down and everything. Really funny!! -Karl -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

dovecot wants to access my music directory
I am getting an SELinux error every time dovecot starts, because it is trying to access my music directory (/srv/music). I've read the doveadm-mount man page, and tried: doveadm mount add /srv/music ignore but it didn't make any difference. Now, I certainly didn't tell dovecot to access this directory, so how can I tell it *not* to do so. This is dovecot-2.1.6-2.fc17.x86_64 on

Wine and Music Collector. No startup?
Hi. I'm trying to get my version of the program 'Music Collector' to start under Wine (20050524) but no luck. Website: http://www.collectorz.com/music/ (I'm trying to use current version 6.7, build 5) The program extracts and installs with no problems. It's just that when I try to run the executable, Wine seems to "go to sleep" and later on exit. I've tried

RE: [Asterisk-Dev] Several patches, includin g recording and music -on-hold
Thanks Ben, Adam and Petr for the feedback! So currently things that need to be done for the Monitor resource are: 1. Name files uniquely. Adam, your naming suggestion is great. I think we should stick with that, with a minor change: I don't think we should put destination channel name in the file names. In some instances there will be no destination channels (plain IVR: play, record, dtmf),

RE: [Asterisk-Dev] Several patches, including recording and music -on-hold
Mahmut, First of all, I'd like to reiterate what a great patch this has been. I'd also like to voice support for having an option to mix the files on the fly, and name them uniquely. While I was able to smoothly put the files together with soxmix, I see on the fly mixing as hugely beneficial to an automated solution to saving/delivering the messages without intervention. One feature,

Music on hold stops on blind transfer
Asterisk 1.4.6 at FreeBSD6.2-RELEASE Client hears pure silence when waiting for call answer. Music on hold stops when transferer pics a number and client doesn't even hear ringing. Is this normal behaviour? How to change this? Log says everything, MOH should stop after call pickup, not before Dial. -- Executing [113 at firma:1] Dial("SIP/zytek-08737000",

SubJam first beta released
Hi Icecasters, I wanted to let you know about my new local music broadcasting platform that uses Icecast as a streaming backend. We just released our first very-early-and-buggy-beta for iOS and can really use the support of the F/OSS and Creative Commons communities to gain traction and identify bugs, do feature requests, etc. My goal is to provide live broadcasts under the Creative Commons

Mahmut, excellent summary :-). I look forward to your next update. One little thing, In the manager events that show start/stop monitoring, can you please include a field that indicates the filename(s) to which the monitoring was written? Digital Ear evaluation of Vorbis beta 4
For those who haven't yet seen this: EarGuy's Digital Ear (physiological model of the ear based on work by Frank Baumgarte) has just finished rating the sound quality of Vorbis beta 4 at 128 kbs using 30 random 10-second selections of music: http://pub41.ezboard.com/fr3mixfrm4.showMessage?topicID=33.topic Two samples on which the Ear says Vorbis performed uncharacteristically poorly

No music on hold?
Hi all, I've got Asterisk 1.2.10 up and running on Debian using the back ports. I noticed that it didn't come with mpg123 or depend on it and I believe I read somewhere that asterisk now handles it's own mp3 playback? Is this true? If so I must have a problem, because I hear no music when putting someone on hold. When looking at the console when putting someone on hold, I see

keyboard input messed up in Wine 1.1.15?
I'm in Fedora 10 x86_64 and did a system update last night that included updating Wine from 1.1.14 to 1.1.15. Now when I play WoW my keyboard input is all messed up, I hit one key and get the result of another - example W,S,A,D keys used for movement will instead act like the space bar or esc keys, or the other way around. I try to type in chat and whatever key I hit acts like some other key,

performance.cache-size for high-RAM clients/servers, other tweaks for performance, and improvements to Gluster docs
Btw, I've now noticed at least 5 variations in toggling binary option values. Are they all interchangeable, or will using the wrong value not work in some cases? yes/no true/false True/False on/off enable/disable It's quite a confusing/inconsistent practice, especially given that many options will accept any value without erroring out/validation. 16 KHz clip-off?
Hello, congratulations to the Ogg Vorbis team - RC2 sounds good. But... RC2 in 128 kbps mode seems to clip off all frequencys beyond 16 KHz. On the tracks I tested Beta 4 gave response even beyond 18 KHz. Some testings on a randomly chosen track: (other tracks gave similar results) Artist: Judas Priest Album: Jugulator Title: Bullet Train Beta4: 127 kbps, ~ 18 KHz (!) RC2: 132 kbps (!), ~ 16

SNOM 200 beta build + MOH
I'm using the SNOM 200 latest SIP beta (so that I can have the GSM codec, etc). Everything seems to be working fine, but the music on hold doesn't play when I use the HOLD button on the snom. Any suggestions? Thanks, --Ernest
