mdac 2.8 fails install with 'sha1sum mismatch'
Hi,
I'm trying to install MDAC 2.8 to run some Windows software on Wine. I'm using the latest release (1.3) and winetricks alpha on Linux Mint 10. After pointing it to mdac28, it throws this error message, "sha1sum mismatch, Rename /home/sol/.cache/winetricks/mdac28/MDAC_TYP.EXE and try again." I tried the obvious thing, renaming the file, which doesn't didn't help.

[Announce] sha1sum for MS Windows released
Hi!
In the light of the recently found weaknesses in the MD5 hash function
we won't anymore accompany software announcements with MD5 checksums.
Instead SHA-1 checksums will be given.
All modern GNU/Linux systems are featuring a sha1sum tool, similar to
the md5sum too, so this there should be no problem checking the
checksums on these platforms. For MS Windows no such tool is
available. To

Winetricks not connecting to M/soft
Hello all, newbie at linux.
have installed Wine 1.1.17 and trying to use Winetricks to install the windows components to use with autoCAD 2006.
When winetricks gets to the part where it connects to M/soft, it times out while waiting for a connection.
Is there a solution to this or just keep trying?
Cheers and TIA

Stumped with winetricks and source code
I'm using Leopard and I'm new to wine, MacPorts, the use of the terminal, and coding in general. Because of this, some of the language in the FAQ seems foreign to me and hasn't been very helpful, or its geared toward Unix users and not Mac OS X users.
ISSUE#1: I managed to install wine through MacPorts and use it to run a game. I've used Crossover to install and run the same game

Oops sorry, ugh another poor selection of words as I
meant to say "When I saw the rest of my post snipped,
I then realized that last request sounds really bad,
which was not my intention.

FWD: OGG level mismatch
Comments on the following, anyone? This means you, Monty.
What's causing the gain he's seeing? Is this a matter of codebook

Battlefield Vietnam Fonts
Successfully installed Battlefield Vietnam at the second attempt, the first failing because I was camped on the CD drive with the terminal screen, preventing the first CD from being unloaded ... Ho hum! However, the screen text display is terrible ... but this was the case on XP until I loaded the right fonts that BV was expecting ... but I cannot remember which fonts, and I no longer install a

is Prio-map really used in a CBQ without filter of filter mismatch?
Hi, all,
according to the following HTML,
http://lartc.org/howto/lartc.qdisc.classful.html
section 9.5.3.1. PRIO parameters & usage:
it says:
"If you do not provide tc filters to classify traffic, the PRIO qdisc
looks at the TC_PRIO priority to decide how to enqueue traffic."
So my understanding is that the Priomap will be consulted to classify
the packet.
However, I see the
