Wine Opens Everything by Default
Hi, Recently after downloading Wine and trying to open files, Wine has been opening everything by default. For example, when I used to open Pictures it used to use one of Linux's image viewers like Gwenview. However, after downloading Wine it's been using Wine, then opens up Internet Explorer, and then opens up the picture. The same goes for text files. When I try to open a text file,

Setting WINE applications as file defaults
Hello all, I just recently added Ubuntu 10.10 with WINE 1.2.2 as a partition to my Windows system. I went through some hoops with PlayOnLinux to install Microsoft Office 2007 onto my Ubuntu side (tried using OpenOffice; it just doesn't click with me). Anyway, the applications seem to be working fine except that I can't set them as the default programs for opening their respective file

Open With "A Wine Application": a ridiculous amount of trash
How do I remove all the "A Wine Application" entries (http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/1413/winetrash.png) from gnome's Open With > Add Application dialog? As well, for almost every file type I had when wine started doing this, there's an entry in gnome's right-click menu (http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4291/winejunk.png) to open with "A Wine Application".

Stopping "Open with" menu items from being created by wine
How do I stop "A Wine Application" from being added (sometimes multiple times) to my desktop environment's "Open With" menus? This is very annoying and I never want these items added for any file type. I really do not want to have to remove them after they're created, either. The few file types that I want opened by a wine program, I have added an appropriate menu

Enable Contributions Through Pull-request For LLVM
-1 -- switch to PR's +1 -- Hal's compromise proposal (as long as I can continue to use Phab) I agree that the documentation could be better, but I don't see that as a justification for switching from a superior tool to an inferior one. Let's work on the documentation first, then if there's still a compelling reason to switch, do it then, I share most of the concerns already

has_one self reference
Imagine the following situation: model Person, with the default name, address, location data. Person has either one or no superior which in turn is also a Person model instance. I would expect something like has_one :superior, :class_name => "Person" but where would I place the belongs_to line that goes with it and what arguments do I need to supply? And what kind of foreign keys

Very HUGE binaries!?
Hi! I've been compiling Samba 3.0.x on a Solaris 2.6 server using GCC 3.4.1 without any problem until recently... The problem started with 3.0.12 version, and reproduced in 3.0.13. Doing "configure" and then "make" produces with these two versions VERY HUGE binaries! I'm talking about more than 50 Megabytes binaries in some cases... With 3.0.11 and before I had much

Some (lack of) answers regarding the wakeup call application...
Since I only seem to get questions, and no feedback, from the Wiki page, I'll ask here. There seems to be no lack of opinions here... I have a working wakeup call system on my home * system. The architecture is something I'm not perfectly happy with, though. There are two AGI scripts, written in Perl, which handle (a) scheduling, confirming, and cancelling a wakeup call, and (b) the

Enable Contributions Through Pull-request For LLVM
I'm not sure the idea that enabling pull requests will make it easier for new contributors is fully thought out. Just because more people might be familiar with GitHub, doesn't mean it is superior. I've found the workflow on Phabricator to be really easy. I think many people agree that Phabricator is really good, I don't think we would want to get rid of Phabricator and while its

Help creating a shortcut in wine
Can anyone help me with how to create a windows shortcut in wine? I want to create windows shortcuts on a Linux box that windows clients can then access. I'm trying to use wine to allow me to create the shortcut on the Linux box. I'm using the wine-0.9.31 version of wine on Fedora Core 5. I've tried two approaches, both fail. I've tried using an autohotkey script. This script runs

Solr
Hi Daniel, I am on Archlinux. Anyway, I adapted the scripts. 2 questions: 1 - It looks like we are not on the same version . I am on 7.5.0. Which version are you running ? 2 - Your conf shows that you let managed-schema but deleted schema.xml. What is the meaning of each ? Thank you On 2018-12-22 00:19, Daniel Miller wrote: > Joan, > > The reason for dropping squat, I'm

help files for libraries that aren't in the defaults library tree
Hello, I created a library for a bunch of functions that I use frequently so that I dont have to carry duplicate copies around to wherever I fire up an R sesssion. However, I have problems locating the help files for those functions. Here are some details. I created the library "myR" and installed this in /home/royle/R using: R INSTALL -l /home/royle/R /home/royle/Rpackages/myR

Plot Fonts in Windows vs Mac OSX
I have been plotting the same charts using png on a Windows machine and on a Mac OSX and the quality of the resulting images, particularly in relation to the fonts, look far superior in the plots produced on the Mac. Is there any way I can enhance the quality of the plots produced on the Windows machine? I have also tried using win.metafile on the Windows machine and the quality looks the same as

how to see samba servers in win 7 network
Hi, Have a few samba servers in a small network. The only way any windows client can see shares is to use \\servername From the samba pdc, running smbclient -L pdc-server -N shows list of servers. So its not an issue of the samba server being able to resolve other member servers. Opening Network only shows the local computer (itself). I have searched around and find any fix for this.

How to save R "clean" sessions in BATCH mode?
Thanks a lot for all of you that have reply me about opening and ending R workspaces in BATCH mode. However replies were a king general and I?m afraid I could not take the entire message from them. Therefore I chose to expose here a representative fraction of my work. I have 50 Rdata files (F1,F2,F3,F4, ,F50) with objects inside. I need to: open F1: - perform some simple operations
