Microphone Issues (Wine 1.0.1 & Ubuntu Jaunty)
Hi all I cannot get my microphone to work under Wine - It is absolutely fine on Ubuntu (Jaunty), as I use Skype without issues. I am connecting to my motherboard mic socket. Pulseaudio was apt-get purged from my system months ago and I run Alsa. I tried selecting OSS, but as this locks any other devices, I get no sound. I noticed though, under the Audio Settings in Wine Configuration, ALSA

Re: Rosetta Stone Microphone Detection
Honestly, you guys are speaking jibberish. I have no idea what all that coding and stuff is, but I do know how I solved my problem without all the extra programs. I found the answer. Rosetta Stone has a problem detecting the mics if the speaker input is not in some way connected to the mic. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I don't care and neither should you. Follow these steps

The other kind of microphone problems
Hi there! Recently I bought a simple Headset so I don't have to use my webcam mic in Teamspeak anymore. Its a normal analog Headset, so no USB. I plugged it in my Audigy2 and it works fine. The thing is, when I'm in Teamspeak starting Wine (wincfg is enough) it seems to "lock" the Microphone input of my Audigy2. Then I only can use it inside Wine and only hear what the others

Echo cancellation with different sound card for speaker and microphone
I'm developing an application that have a video conference component. For that I need echo cancellation, and is looking around for algorithms/implementations of that, and the one in speex is an alternative. In the documentation for speex I find the following sentence however. "Using a different soundcard to do the capture and plaback will *not* work, regardless of what you may

I have to do this with my webcam mic. --

Re: CS:S microphone
Hi, I also have the same problem, I tried wine with alsa, oss and I tried to jack. I tried really everything here. My microphone works perfectly with Skype and other applications such as audio recorders, but in CS: S (counter-strike source) it crashed on the first day of use. I use Arch Linux but the same happened with Debian Lenny. On the first day and everything works the mic (perfect!!) Hours

Microphone in World in Conflict
Hi I've got WIC installed and running in current Wine-Version 1.1.23. Everything runs fine, without the Water and the Mic. Water is not nerving so much, sometimes its just a bit laggy, or i dont even have water in the rivers. But my main problem is to get the microphone running. I tried every audio-driver in winecfg. I had seen in other Topics where a mic was running (Steam, Rosetta Stone).

speex_denoise on non-microphone noise (static ?)
I'm not sure you'd have much success in trying to make a generic profile to fit the "typical noisy PC" since PC configurations vary so much. Consider an integrated AC97 codec vs. the mic input on an SB Live!/Audigy Live!Drive, or whether or not the input from the CD-ROM audio is muted, or what noisy devices might be situated near the mic. It's nice to be able to get

Rosetta Stone Microphone Detection
All hail the day my audio problems with Wine stop! :) So, to recap my system configuration: hw 0,0 is my X-Fi hw 1,0 is onboard Intel HD Audio hw 2,0 is my AK5370 Logitech USB Microphone I finally have all of these devices working properly in Wine, or so I thought. Both sound cards work in Ventrilo and WoW. The Logitech USB Mic works in Ventrilo, so it must be configured properly, right?

Windows streaming (from microphone) client for IceCast 1.3.11, anyone?
Hello, I have some old Window$ machine laying around and I want to live send from microphone from that Windows machine to Icecast server. I've found plugins for WinAmp, but those don't include encoding from sound card input/mic/etc. 10x, i -- [We] use bad software and bad machines for the wrong things. -- R.W. Hamming <HR NOSHADE> <UL>

Re: Rosetta Stone Microphone Detection
Same for me @NeilWards. Logitech Clearchat Pro USB headset, Wine 1.1.3, Ubuntu 8.04, using ALSA (I've tried with and without PulseAudio) - headset works in other most but not all apps. However, I've never got it close to working in RS. I'm going to contact the RS people to see if there is a work around for the "autodetection" of the mic and post anything useful they might say

Re: Rosetta Stone Microphone Detection
Thank you Rsay, it was a nice try, but I could not get this to work with my Logitech mic. For the record I have it (the microphone, that is) set up so that it works fine in Audacity. After opining Wine configure, dmesg gives me lots of these: [ yadda. yadda*] ALSA /build/buildd/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-2.6.24/debian/build/build-generic/sound/alsa-driver/usb/usbaudio.c:1345: 4:1:1:

Lenovo T420 internal microphone not working
Hello, I have CentOS 7.1 installed on my Lenovo T420 Notebook. Now I will start to have some online meetings for a software project. In Bios the I/O-settings for camera and microphone are enabled. Camera is working (tested with cheese). In the audio settings of Gnome perferences I see an internal microphone which doesn't produce any input. The microphone is also not disabled by the key on

Sadly, I do not have an answer either, but I would also like to request help on this subject. This seems to be a common issue, yet I can't find a resolution anywhere.

Mic Plugged into sound card not working
Hey guys, I have a mic plugged into my sound card. It worked late last night but not today. When I try to select the mic using System/Preferences/Sound I'm provided with several options to choose from. On the Hardware tab I choose the Internal Audio device and set it to Analog Stereo Duplex. On the Input tab I choose Internal Audio Analog Stereo there are two Analog Microphone Inputs,
