How to make nice tiny sized figures on graphic devices producing scalable vector output?
Hello!
Usually whenever I want a tiny plot, I just create it as is (or even large) and then downscale it in the end application like LaTeX of MS Word. However, all these graphic devices like postscript, pdf, win.metafile retain physical sizes, so it would be natural if I can just insert graphics as is provided those have proper physical sizes embedded.
The question is what is the best

Regarding R's png device in linux
Hi,
I am a developer from Oracle. I wanted to create a png file out of png device with a bit depth of 8. I am using R on linux. But I noticed that R automatically switches between 8 and 24 bit depth. i tried a lot of things from your grDevices package but unable to control the bitdepth. I would be really grateful to you guys if you can suggest me some way to solve this issue.

import a bitmap image and add it to graphics display
Hello
Is there a possibility to import and add a bitmap image (png or
similar) to a R graphics display. It would be helpful e.g. to
locate positions of points of a scanned map or to add a background
to a R graphic.

doubt in climate variability analysis in R!

I am trying to use "clim.pact" package for my work, but since this is the beginning for me to use gridded datasets in "R", I am having some trouble.

hclust graphics - plotting many points
Hello.
I have a distance matrix with lots of distances that I use hclust to
organise. I then plot the results using the plot method of hclust.
However, the plot itself takes around 20 mins to make due to there
being ~700 things in the matrix that I have distances for. I thus
would like to dump this to some graphics format which will let me
examine this further.

using speex to connect to asterisk
Hi,
I'm trying to use speex codec in iax client to connect to asterisk (all last version)
It seems that when I use speex_encoder_init(speex_lib_get_mode(SPEEX_MODEID_WB))
Instead of speex_encoder_init(speex_lib_get_mode(SPEEX_MODEID_NB))
Asterisk try to downscale the codec to ulaw.
Please advice,

We need to downscale climate data and therefore first need to expand the climate from 0.5deg to the higher resolution 10min, before we can add high resolution deviations. We basically need to have the original data at each gridcell replicated into 3x3 gridcells.

Rsync tries to access unnecessary files/dirs after chrooting itself.
Hi.
While debugging some encfs errors in the logs, I realized they are
being generated because rsync (chrooted inside a encfs file system,
--reverse) is trying to access files like: /root/.popt, /etc/localtime
etc. This doesn't seem to be related to ID-name mapping as I already
have numeric ids enabled in config. Here is the relevant strace

a few days ago i remembered that i got the 2009 Wolfenstein2 original DVD. So i figured out where i stored it and give the installation a try.
I got the RETAIL DVD 1.0 which runs platinum for me like the AppDB saith:

I'd like to draw a graphic using different color line segments to
represent microarray data. It simply likes this:

Need help configuring wireless NIC
