Stronghold 2 Problems
Has anyone managed to get Stronghold 2 working with wine post 1.0? I'm sure I've managed to play it before on earlier versions of wine but I have tried with version 1.01 and 1.1.18 but can't play it. Using versions 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 of Stronghold 2, the game crashes after a few seconds of game play. Using versions 1.3.1, 1.4 and 1.4.1 I can't run the game without installing

No Video in Video Game
I am installing the original Stronghold Crusader when I install it using wine all seems to go well until I actually start the game then when the aspect ratio changes for the game there is no video but from what I can hear when I move my mouse everything else seems to be responding normally. I thought it might be related to the nVidia drivers that were installed by the "hardware drivers

Problems booting 2.6.7 Dom0 with 3ware Controllers
I tried to install and boot a 2.6.7 Dom0 xenLinux Kernel on an SMP (Dual-Xeon) Machine with 2 3-ware Controllers installed (1 4-channel Controler and 1 8-channel Controler, both Parallel ATA) and no other HDs present (except the ones connected to the 3ware controlers, of course). First of all I got a compilation error after activating the SMP option in the kernel config. After deactivating the

driver for IVT SCD solar controller ?
hi, I'm using the SCD-20 solar controller from IVT Gmbh in combination with a 230Ah battery and a photovoltaic panel to power a small server based on an Intel ATOM N270 CPU. the controller is (will be) connected to the server via RS232 (1200 8n1) and works like this: - if the battery voltage drops below 12V, a warning LED is switched on - if the battery voltage drops below 10.5V, the load

InfoWeek Article on VOIP
Here's t link: http://www.informationweek.com/story/showArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=JUEFVG ENEA01YQSNDBCCKH0CJUMEKJVN?articleID=165702588 The bottom line is that they compare retail VOIP providers like Comcast Cable, Time-Warner Cable, AT&T, Vonage, Packet8 et al. Their methodology seems sound. Their conclusion is that retail VOIP services don't yet match the PSTN for reliability &

Adding a value to one dataframe from another dataframe
Dear All the problem I have is as follows. I have attribute data in a number of data.frames identified 1:58 (the column Null is just there to stop it becoming a list, which caused me trouble, the data I am interested in is in column 1, although other data frames have multiple categories/cols). The attribute data frames are always organised with 58 rows. ID Null 1 NA 1

Help writing function in R....
I need help writing function that takes three categorical inputs and returns a vector of summary statistics based on these inputs. The data set contains information on retail goods that can be specified by their retail segment, brand name, and type of good along with its retail price and what it actually sold for. I need to write a function that will take these inputs and average, count, and

limitations to random number generator in 64-bits machines
Dear List, Recently I got the comment that the implementation of the random number generator used by default in R (Mersenne-Twister) could not be "safe" for 64-bits machines, so I decided to put the question here because I do not have expertise in that topic, and because this question could be "too technical for R-help's audience". I apologise if this is not the case.

ordering a vector
Hi, is there a R function that order a matrix according to some criteria based on the rows(or cols) of that matrix? For example, let's say that my matrix S is composed by n rows S_1, S_2,.., S_n and that I compute some real value g_i=g(S_i) for each row. Then I want to order this set of g_i (from smaller to bigger) and order the correspondent row to the new position. Is it possible (apart

re tail case-pack ordering problem - can R help?
I'm a programmer, not a mathmatician. I heard about R, and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if there is an existing R function that can help with a problem we're currently trying to find an algorithm for. If R is not the answer, but you can recommend a known algorithm, that would help a lot! I'm on a project in a retail corporation, working on a program to assist retail buyers

Problems using vorbisfile.dll

For some reason I want it using vorbisfile threw the dll’s. It works just fine with the debug dll. No problems what so ever. But with the Retail dlls, when I call ov_open my memory gets messed up.
