Trouble installing packages with Winetricks
Hi all.
I know I posted a similar topic before, but I think it's necessary to re-formulate the problem since it has taken a different wider focus.
I'm trying to make some of my Windows apps to work on Linux which used to work quite well with Wine back when I had openSUSE 11.1 last year. Right now I'm focusing in one called DBabble. Back in 11.1 I used Wine Doors to download libraries

About Wine Doors missing
Hi again.
Well, it's been a few days since I updated to openSUSE 11.3 and I was installing Wine and Wine Doors to get my Windows applications to work, suddenly realizing that Doors was not working anymore and the website was shutdown since July 2010. Doors did wonderful with all my apps back in openSUSE 11.1 unlike Gecko, which gives me lots of trouble with most of the apps (they simply

Threaded logging?
Is the logging system thread-safe? I have a process that takes about 5
hours, and twice, it has stopped, giving me no errors at all... but the
process hasnt been finished... The second time, I loaded the status
page, and it gave me a 500 error, at the same time the process stopped.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the cause is two processes trying to
write to the log-file at the same

R-3.3.1 RPM release
Since I've gotten a few off-list replies, I feel like it's worth
pointing out why people are having trouble building R from source on
RHEL/CentOS 5 & 6.
R has always depended on some third party libraries, specifically,
zlib, bzip2, xz, pcre, and curl. Prior to R 3.3.0, R depended on much
older versions of these libraries, but, if they were not found on the
system, they'd use

R-BiocFileCache is now branched for f32 (finally). You should be able to
build it if/when the PDC comes back up. Lotta random outages right now.

Fixed updates for EL5 / EL6
I know, I know, you've heard this song before... ;)
EL5: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2016-09c8007e64
EL6: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2016-0a9e4df655
Please go download -8 and test it. It looks good on my end. If it works
for you (with CRAN modules), please give positive karma so it will land
in updates-stable faster than two weeks.
Thanks

Movie Magic Screenwriter 6 Trial installs, crashes when run
This is on OpenSUSE 10.3, Wine 0.9.60, with a clean wineprefix.
I installed the trial version of Movie Magic Screenwriter 6. The install went fine. When I try to run the program it freezes almost immediately after loading. A box pops up telling me I have encountered OLE Error 80004001 and wants to send an error report. If I click ok, it opens Thunderbird and can even send an email, though it is

problems compiling packages in R | 3.3.0-5 | EL6
*All boxes are EL6 x86_64, fully up to date*
Updated to R 3.3.0-3 recently, however just yesterday I tried to update a couple packages for a user and noticed almost nothing would build. I was (am) getting the same build errors as another previously posted (https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-sig-fedora/2016-June/000452.html). I watched over the bodhi page for the issue and noticed 3.3.0-5 was

Problems running Braid with Gecko
Hi all. First time posting here.
I first did a search around the forums, but didn't find something similar to my problem.
I'm trying to run Braid full version on openSUSe using Wine and Gecko (Doors has been shutdown since a while, what a shame... And Gecko is the default configurator Suse installs).
Firstly Wine crashed with an error message due to an "unexpected error", then I

theoretical question
i have heard some stories from some people who claim to have been able to
set up a partition in linux and install win98 via wine and then having it
fire up. i know wine isnt designed for this purpose but apparantly it has
been done....who knows, maybe someone is pulling my leg.
i'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who has pulled this off and
if so how did they go about doing it. i

I found that the best call in this case is instead of --addbuilds to use
--from-tag since then "this will update the builds to the latest ones in the

postgis-2.0.7-2.el7 still in epel7-testing?
Hi all,
I'm looking for a fix in postgis, which seems to be fixed already in
postgis-2.0.7-2.el7.
However that package seems to be 'stuck' in the epel7-testing repository:
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=750618
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2016-b6c229157e
Is there a reason that the package is not pushed to stable yet? Or can
it be
