Help with GLXBadPixmap Error
I've been getting this error for a few weeks now when trying to run Fantasy Grounds II, which never gave me problems before. I've googled around for the GLXBadPixmap error, but I can't find anything. Does anyone know about this or what might be wrong? X Error of failed request: GLXBadPixmap Major opcode of failed request: 137 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 81 () Serial

Scraping data from website---Error in htmlParse: error in creating parser
I'm trying to scrape football projections from accuscore.com for the different positions (right now the projections are set to zeros, but that will change). I can get the QB projections, but I can't get the projections for any of the other positions (e.g., RB). How can I get the RB projections? I'm not sure what the actual website for the RB and other projections is. When I go to

How to kill a running wine application
Question: How to kill a Windows application that runs with wine? I have installed new stable version of wine for Debian. Then the Windows application starts OK but hangs for some reason (its the application logic fault). However I can't see any way to close the application window or to kill the application. I tried as in documentation: # wineserver -k bash: wineserver: command not found I

Winetools not working on my desktop
So, I installed Wine 20050111 and Winetools 2.1 on my desktop which is a P4 HT 3.4ghz ICH6 chipset based box. Redhat seems to function just fine on it, and I'm running the latest stable SMP Kernel. My problem is included in the following test. When I launch WineTools, it starts complaining about not being able to create directories and the such, but I'm running this as root (I can hear

[Fwd: Re: Execution of WineTools with Wine version 20041201 on RedHat 9]
Joachim, apologies again for bothering you, but after I sent the email below, I managed to link Xdialog in /usr/bin to /usr/local/Winetools to get Winetools to work (I'm still getting used to the 'peculiarities' of linux!). I went through the Base Setup procedure as advised, and it seemed to work 'mostly OK', but I think there is a problem with my glibc as you advised - a

Wineserver is not shooting down
First - Wine is great. I love it totally. To login into a company website I have to use IE6 - Firefox is not handling the Web Site due to some reglementations. IE6 runs fine and there are NO problems. Only after exit, the Wineserver keeps running and takes away a lot CPU Power. I can stop it manually (System Monitor -> Process. Right Click and I can stop it (and it relieves the Power from the

wineserver listening port 2001
Hello, I'm running wine for 2 windows programs under ubuntu and it is working quite well. But now I need the port 2001 open for an application (and I'm not able to switch this port as the application does not allow it :( ). As I see in netstat -ap the wineserver is listening to this port 2001. (tcp 0 0 *:2001 *:* LISTEN

Execution of WineTools with Wine version 20041201 on RedHat 9
Hi, I've installed Wine version 20041201 on RedHat 9 and Winetools 210-jo, but when I try to execute Winetools (by typing wt2 on shell (as a user, not root), I just get all the error messages below. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong, please? Best regards, Andy [andrew@Atlas2 andrew]$ wt2 bash: wt2: command not found [andrew@Atlas2 andrew]$ cd /usr/local/winetools [andrew@Atlas2

Wine Server for multi users
Hi, Is it possible to have a single Wineserver which can manage wine processes belonging to different users. If not, please tell me the reason. I'm trying to reduce the memory occupied by wineserver in a multiuser system, for instance: a server shared by 100s of users. In this case, it is better to have a single wineserver which can manage wine processes of multiple users (1 process instead

Windows 3.1 program hangs at startup
Hi folks, I just joined the list because I am trying very much to get this program working so I can keep the environment that I am working in 100% Linux. If I can't get this to go I'll have to deploy a couple of Windows boxes. I have used Wine before but am by no means an expert in configuration or debugging with it. I have looked through the information at the website and did a Google

How do I do core dumps and backtraces?
I've been testing out Red Orchestra on Wine, and when I run it, it tells me that wineserver crashed and to run ulimit -c unlimited and try again. So I did that, and tried, that time it didn't tell me wineserver crashed, but it did. I run wine again, and it says wineserver crashed last time, and to run this command: gdb /usr/bin/../lib32/../bin/wineserver

wineserver: /root/.wine/config is not a valid registry file
Hi! When I'm trying to run wine (I've tried many compilations), I got something like that: wineserver: /root/.wine/config is not a valid registry file Why I'm not using /etc/wine.conf, /usr/etc/wine.conf or /usr/local/etc/wine.conf? Because wineserver wants only $HOME/.wine/config... When I delete this file wineserver 'says' that I don't have configuration file (even

Running wine as a server
Hello, I'm new to this forum, but have been using wine for a long time. Is there a way of running wine as a server, so that many linux users could run instances of the same application without the need of running several instances of wine? My scenario is: I've got a linux machine working as a server for 14 thin clients. Each client runs (as different users, via ssh -X -C) a windows

wine and winetools on freebsd
This is the results of my attempts to install a working wine system on freebsd using winetools. I've downloaded the last wine from ports (0.9.3,1) and the last winetools .tar.gz (0.9joIII). I had to patch the wt0 script because it didn't work on freebsd. Attached you'll find the diff which I strongly encourage to include in the next version of winetoos. I've managed to setup
