New winetricks 20110417: new verbs braid braid_demo cod5_waw deadspace dotnet20sp2 dragonage_ue mise popfs splitsecond splitsecond_demo spore
Another fortnight, another Winetricks. This release fixes a handful of bugs, and adds a handful of games (or, really, ports them from wisotool). It also brings back the old verb dotnet20sp2, since that seems to work with wine-1.3.18 (please let me know if it's useful). It also adds a rudimentary gui to prompt for Steam username and password, cleans up the --help message, and improves mac and

Another two months, another winetricks release. (So much for release early, release often :-) Highlights: - fixes a bunch of verbs whose download URLs had changed, especially vcrun2005 and vcrun2008. - fixes the annoying "unexpanded variable" error which happened when running old wine with a new wineprefix. - brings back gog support (though without automated download for now; any

[1.3.19] Better support for relative mouse events in DInput ??
"Better support for relative mouse events in DInput." What exactly does the above update do in new 1.3.19? I've been moaning for years about stopping the mouse from leaving an emulated desktop window. (which would fix many games for me) Please explain what this update does, thanks! Jesse

Crysis 2 Demo Working
Just a small post to inform you that Crysis 2 MP demo is working with wine 1.3.14. You can easily install it using PlayOnLinux (Standalone setup and Steam version) or manually install it with vcrun2008 and DirectX Runtime (June 2010) dependancies (only tested standalone). Regards, WineFan62

Crysis on FreeBSD
Ok, I know Crysis will run under Linux with wine but a while ago I tried to run it under OS X using wine and all I got was a white screen when I tried to launch it, why is this? I'm thinking of making the jump to FreeBSD and since OS X and FreeBSD are similar, would I get this same problem?

jw_player_helper, IE8, no full screen
I have some code that displays flash (flv) video. This code runs perfectly in FireFox, Chrome, and Safari. IE8 plays the video but I am unable to get IE8 to get the video to go full screen by pressing the "full screen" button. I am using jw_player_helper. Some of the relevant HAML code follows: - - - - - - javascript(''swfobject.js'') = player( {:file =>

IE8 for wine?
Hi all. I am running Ubuntu 10.04. There are a few sites that I need to view, that require Internet Explorer. For some reason that I'm sure I have a strong dislike for. So, I downloaded IE8 for windows XP, from the internet. And, I installed it with wine. But for some reason, when I go to Applications>Wine>Programs, it just isn't listed. I can't open it if I can't get to it,

Problems with IE8
I finally got IE to work on Lucid. The version is 8. I've got three problems. 1) There are horizontal white lines showing up that don't show up in firefox, seamonkey, or chrome. 2) It renders real slow. So scrolling down a page is not smooth at all. 3) There's a 1 or 2 px gab between two images in a table, but cellspacing and cellpadding are set to zero. Again, no problems in the

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. dinput patches for Wine 1.4
Hi everyone, I've been installing software on my Mac using Wine for quite some time Mac OS X 10.6.8 2GB RAM ATI X1600 128 MB Not the best specs but you'd be surprised at what will run on such an old rig. My main inquiry for this post is concerning the Stalker series and the patch that fixed the mouse issues present in Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat pre 1.4 stable. Since around the 1.3.24
