Google launches social search copied idea from Find1Friend.com running on Xapian!
Social Networking Search
Google and Bing launches social search that I invented and developed
at http://Find1Friend.com/ before running on Xapian. They copy
inventors ideas and never gave credit to the inventor, the exact same
way when I wrote first social networking site in 1999 at
http://MyWBS.com , Friendster, MySpace, Facebook and others copied the
idea, made tons of money, held hundreds

CyberPower 1250AVR UPS. Anybody got one?
Hi,
I have a Linux box running Gentoo. I have nut installed and sort of
running. It doesn't seem to shutdown though. This is what I would like
to have happen mostly because I know our power situation here. I would
like for when the power fails, it waits about 15 minutes then starts the
shutdown process. No need to wait until the battery is low and all that
stuff.
My reason for this is

Rails 3.1, SASS, @import, and directories
So, here''s the problem: @import isn''t liking other directories.
Example:
app/
assets/
stylesheets/
extras/
_mixins.sass
_variables.sass
photographs/
index.css.sass
And the contents of app/assets/stylesheets/photographs/index.css.sass is:
@import "../extras/mixins", "../extras/variables"
I get the following

MySpace.com clone - is it possible with Ruby on Rails?
Hi, I wanna know wich of the well known frameworks is the best choice
for myspace-clone community website.
CakePHP ? Zend Framework? Symfony?
Ruby on Rails :) ?
Django?
or maybe
Kohana? Prado? or something else?
Is it better to use PHP or Ruby or Python? I will pay a webdesigner
for this job, but I want to know which lang and framework is in your
opinion the best for this kind of application.

[LLVMdev] Debug info for namespaces and "using"
I've noticed the work going on to support namespace and "using" directives.
Awesome that this is happening, I've had a couple users wonder about it.
(The main issue actually seems to be with anonymous namespaces; gdb will
auto-import those declarations, but our debugger doesn't.)
I thought I should also bring up another aspect of how Clang/LLVM handles
namespaces, in case

Hosting Music for Free
I would like to be able to host music not by myself for free. The only
problem is, I can't find a place that will do it. When I want to share a
song with a forum, I am currently forced to use RapidShare, MegaUpload, or
UploadingIt, all of which causes problems for somebody. I would like to be
able to host a song, have a link to click on it, and it doesn't have to be
downloaded and cause

bwplot stats question
Hi List,
Just wondering where the documentation exists for the statistics which
makeup the bwplot.
I'm guessing that if R is like similar products that the graph is
constructed as
The median is the filled circle. The box surrounding the filled circle
depicts the 25th and 75th quartile. The range of values is given by the
dotted lines (?whiskers?) outside of each box, and possible

job: small image bank
hello,
I''m working on a image bank for a nature photographer well known here

programming to.
I''m looking for somebody with a good grip on using rails with a lot of
image uploading and processing, thumbnailing etc, as well as tagging
and searching in general. Work would be entirely by telecommute.

Acer Aspire Photographer in need of expert help
Ladies and gentlemen
Can someone help me? I have just bought an AS One 120 gig+Linpus Linux as a photo storage device. It is a fabulous machine for the job as the screen is incredibly sharp and the whole deal is better than say the Epson P3000 device.
I use a pair of Canon 400D's and only shoot in Raw. The default image viewer (gThumb??) is fantastic as it does a slide show at the same time

resolution (dpi) problem
I am using R 2.4.1 with Windows XP.
I use the plot command in a fairly simple script and I use the right mouse
click on the plot and save as a postscript file. I used the resultant file
in a paper which was submitted electronically. However, I get the following
response from the journal:
Your manuscript has been unsubmitted because you failed to meet the
submission guidelines as indicated
