No alsa mixing device shows in winecfg
For me, no mixerdevice comes up in winecfg under alsa.
I have three soundcards, and my winecfg shows the following:
Under alsa,
wave-in wave out, shows three copies of dmix:system and dsnoop:system
There is no category for Mixer Devices.
Under oss, which works fine (except not with the clarity of alsa) I show under :
wave-out / wave-in / mixer devices

Winecfg does not notice my headphones - only mic (USB Headset) / No 'Mixer Devices' in Alsa - only OSS
Hi,
I've been struggling to get everything going fine for a while now.
Finally I can talk clearly and hear people.
Problem is it was coming through my speakers connected to an external
USB Sound Card; if I set it to come through my USB Headset, it comes
through speakers anyway.
I unplugged USB sound card and restarted computer.
Now I tried again. This time I simply do not hear sound.

After upgrading wine to 1.2-rc3 I no longer have ALSA driver in sound section of winecfg. When i first started winecfg (on 1.2-rc3 version) i got following error:
There is no audio driver currently specified in the registry.
A recommended driver has been selected for you.
You can use this driver or select another driver if available.
You must click Apply for the selection to take place.

Unable to use alsa, unusable driver for winecfg
Got a problem with wine.
I compiled the 1.1.24 version and a lot of things work very fine. But I can't use the Alsa driver output.
When launching winecfg and selecting the Audio tab, a dialog box tell me that the driver "alsa" is present in the registry but unusable and asks me to remove it from the registry.
I don't know why the alsa driver is unusable. I have the correct

Audio makes winecfg segfault
Hello all.
When I start winecfg, everything works ok until I click on the audio tab,
which gives
wine: Unhandled page fault on write access to 0x003ffd80 at address
0x619716c5 (thread 0009), starting debugger...
Wine itself works ok, I have sound; however I think it is in OSS emulation
mode, but I'd like to change it to alsa (I use ala-1.0.12). Xmms works
perfectly in alsa mode, so I

Audio Tab in winecfg Crashes
As the title states, when I click on the Audio Tab inside of WineCFG it crashes horribly. I looked for a way to set it up manually through the registry but I didn't see anything so if someone could tell me how to set Wine to use ALSA or the opposite (OSS) I would be much obliged.

Alsa audio -- FYI update
Alsa audio started working a couple of days ago with wine and then stopped working yesterday.
Here is my experience.
Pulseaudio cannot be removed any more. So I reinstalled the system and left it there.
I compiled wine git and installed, and then installed DNS 10.
Then I re-booted, ran killall pulseaudio in terminal, and started the program with winecfg's sound set to alsa.
Everything

The good old winecfg audio tab
Ok, I know this is probably very redundant, but I'm getting the Audio
tab crash with winecfg. The error output is:
wine: unhandled page fault on write access to *insert hex numbers here*
(thread 0009)
Modules: Cannot get info on modules while no process is loaded
etc.
After the last few hours spent surfing dozens of forums and threads,
none of the fixes have worked.

No sound with alsa and Nvidia HDMI
Hi,
I cannot get wine to recognize my audio device (Nvidia GT210 w/HDMI).
No other sound card is enabled. The right device for sound is hw:0,3. Alsa's speakertest works fine. Pulseaudio is completely removed from my system. Also Wine's pulse package is removed even though the trace still has some references to pulseaudio.

alsa not available in winecfg under karmic?
I upgraded to karmic yesterday, and ran winecfg.
The list of possible sound systems has shrunk to three: oss, jack and eSound.
I tried running winecfg plain, and with padsp and pasuspender prefixes.

Audio in Windows 10 VM is distorted. Using ALSA.
Hi,
I can’t seem to find a solution for my last VM issue.
I have distorted sound, when I play the Windows 10 device test
sound. Only the Windows sound is affected. Mpd of the host is playing just fine
meanwhile. I am using ich9 as emulated card, which is detected and
installed correctly. The VM is using vfio-igd passthrough, so vnc or
spice are not used.
I tried to match the Windows driver

Wine only sees OSS, not ALSA
I have two machines, both of which run Debian squeeze and on which I compiled Wine 1.2.3. On the older installation of Debian, which uses an Audigy 2 card, when I do $ winecfg, Audio tab, the OSS, ALSA, NAS and EsoundD drivers are seen, with the ALSA driver automatically checked. The sound test works.
On the new installation of Deban, with an Audigy 1 card $ winefcg only shows OSS, and so

WoW under wine and winecfg segfault
I am using wine actually only to play WoW on Gentoo Linux. On my desktop PC that works, but on my laptop the program crashes. This appears to be a fault in wine, because I cannot even use winecfg - it segfaults immediately:
Code:
$ winecfg
wine: created the configuration directory '/home/helge/.wine'

Help request: Wine + alsa on 64-bit Fedora 12
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with alsa on wine. I'm posting this to both
lists--I'm sure that there exist people on both ends who might be able
to help. Basically this is it: neither alsa nor oss show up in winecfg.
The wine-alsa and wine-oss packages are installed. I have a feeling
it's due to 32/64-bitness problems. I'm already having to run all wine
apps as wine32
