Office 2007, wine-1.3.10, CentOS 5.5
Hi - I'm trying to install Office Standard 2007 on CentOS 5.5 with a clean install of wine-1.3.10 and it fails almost as soon as the install starts with the enclosed errors.
Any ideas? I started with wine-1.2.2 and clean installs but I ended up with the same error.
By Linux, do they mean Ubuntu?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Microsoft Office 2007 and Wine only
First off before I delve into the purpose of this thread I want to lay down a few ground rules. This thread is only about MS OFFICE 2007 (OFFICE 12) and Wine. No Exceptions!
To break it down further I don't want any information about the following alternatives which I know work, but defeat the purpose.
No talk of:
Open Office (Ooo)
MS OFFICE 2000, XP or 2003
CrossOver Office
any emulators

I used the Portage package manager to install 64-bit WINE with both win32 and win64 support:
Code:

Office 2003 hangs when writing to share
I am having a problem writing/saving to a SMB share with O2K3(Word). In WORD, if I File/SaveAs \\machine\share\fred.doc - the windows machine hangs completely (Explorer+Word immediately, then all other processes after a period of say 1min).
Most other scenarios succeed:
ok: File/SaveAs C:\fred.doc, then move to \\machine\share using explorer.
ok: Outlook.PST file on \\machine\share can be written

MS Office in Wine: Hebrew backwards
I must install MS Office in Wine on Ubuntu Linux. It installs fine,
but the Hebrew is backwards. Googling the problem led me to this
video, which illustrates the problem:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19I2qaykE6w
Does anyone know how to fix this? I am on a full UTF-8 Hebrew locale,
if that is relevant. I installed MS Office 2003 in English on Kubuntu
8.04. Thanks in advance.

Office 2007 black artifacting in wine >1.2
I began experiencing this after WINE 1.2 was updating. On the artifacts around the cell I can scroll down then back up and it disappears, only to reappear after entering more data.
Before 1.2 I didn't experience this, and Office ran nearly perfectly.
I don't have any overrides set because I've never needed to. Since experiencing this I've wiped my .wine directory (and

Office 2007: Access OK. Excel, Word, Powerpoint: NO
HP ProBook 6460b. OpenSuse 11.4 - 64 KDE
I installed and configure wine (as XP). It works
Then I installed Office 2007 Pro. Strange results: Access and some other tools work fine. Word, Excel and Powerpoint open but stop before I can interact with the message: "MS Excel not installed for the current user. Execute installer program again."
I tried to reinstall many times: some result!!

SWTOR requires 30Gb, wine has only 20 Gb. Allocate memory+?
I have been chosen for beta testing of Star Wars: The Old Republic. First day is tomorrow. The installer program says that I require at least 30 Gb, but Wine only has 20 Gb available. Is there a way to increase the space on the hard drive available to wine? Is any body else doing SWTOR on wine?

installing Microsoft Office under wine
I have been unable to install Microsoft Office 2000 under wine on
several Fedora Linux machines. The problem seemed to start with the
June 2004 release of wine and has persisted for every version I have
tried up to and including the latest 12/01/2004 version.
I have tried both RPM install and compiling from source with similar
results.
I have one machine running the May 2004 wine that

Mint KDE 9: Wine problem with MS Office
Hi,
I have the following problems with Wine on Mint 9 KDE:
1.- When I want to install MS Office 2003 from CD, I execute the "Uninstall programs" utility of Wine, and the CD Unit cannot be detected; it happens even when I run the Wine config to detect the CD device, it finds it but when going back to Install programs, the drive letter is not there.
2. I then ran the setup.exe program

Very slow initial opening MS-Word and MS-Excel files from Samba
The first time a Word or Excel file is opened, i.e., when either Word or
Excel have not been actively running "recently" (like, say for several
minutes or more), the time it takes to start the application and load
the file seem inordinately long.
Once the first evolution is complete, files open more-or-less instantly
if I close the first document but leave either app running (but
