possible ext4 handling bug in syslinux 6.03
Hi, I've spent few long hours on weekend trying to get syslinux as boot loader for my alpine linux. Long story short: Failing to load ldlinux.c32 on ext4, but after changing file system from ext4 to ext3, everything worked (all other things being the same). Details below, my setup is fairly complicated so this is might be a partial reason, ALTHOUGH final and the only change which makes

compiling wine on ubuntu 9.10 64bit from the repo sources
Hello everybody, I've got a problem with wine and I couldn't find how to solve it (there are solution on similar problems on Internet but none worked for me): I need to install it but I must patch it before. Since I'm on ubuntu, I downloaded the sources from the ubuntu repo (v 1.1.31), I patched it (in fact I modified a line in the file dlls/dinput/mouse.c based on this:

Correcting wine so as to get an app working
I've read the Wine documentation but it doesn't help much in finding out when a developer will look at a bug in Wine preventing an app working. I want to get Basic4android working properly: it installs OK but it it has a critical runtime problem. The bug is now marked as Confirmed and I've put a comment on the app's WineHQ webpage asking when a developer will look at the bug but

Wine 1.3.24 and Age of Conan: Anybody made it work?
Hey all, Yesterday I compiled and installed 1.3.24, and after having done that I thought I'd give the new Age of Conan Unchained thingie a whirl, just to see if it worked. Long story short, it didn't. I was fairly sure the installer/patcher was doing its thing, because it was pulling some 8GB worth of data to my disk, but all the while it was doing it, all I got was a an empty window.

Drive not found-problem when running programs in Wine
My wife has a Asus Eee (running the original Xandros Linux), on which she wants to run the Rosetta Stone language self-learning software. Naturally, we have it in a Windows-version, so I installed Wine, copied the files on the CD-ROM to a USB memory stick, ran the installer under Wine, and everything worked, to my surprise, without more than a few glitches and re-tries. So the program itself

Webpage to track implementation status of OpenMP features
Long story short: We want to create a webpage under llvm.org that shows the implementation status of OpenMP features, similar to https://clang.llvm.org/cxx_status.html . Please let me know if you have wishes, questions, or concerns. Cheers, Johannes

Hmm, it is interesting. What's missing? and why it is "a lot". It is the status for clang 8.0. There were not too many changes in trunk since last release. Program manager
Hey First of all, great project. Second, I was wondering if there is a program in the wine project, where it is possible to make different setups for the programs installed. Let me explain: I have Picasa installed, I also have C&C 3 installed, now C&C 3 I want to run in window mode and Picasa I don't want to run in window mode. Is it possible to make different setups for them? Or do

Yes, I understand. I just don't understand why there are 15 review links. as to the format of the list, we previously had a list of feature for 4.5 (before it was fully supported), we can reuse this old format. I don't know where it comes from, currently there is just 2 patches with the new functionality : mapper implementation in clang and in the runtime. Plus the patch for unified memory. Wine Gecko download problems on Kubuntu 10.10 w/Wine 1.3.28
I can't seem to get wine to recognize my installation of Wine Gecko 1.3 at all. I have the Wine PPA added to my sources already and have installed the 'wine1.3-gecko' package using Synaptic (personal preference over Kpackagekit or Muon) along with of course the actual wine 1.3 package and the symbol font replacement package for 1.3. I have also tried the 'manual install'

sftp-server (secure) chroot patch?
Hello, I know this chroot issue has been brought up many times before on this list. I saw that the contribibuted chroot-patch was removed from the contrib directory because it always was out of date. The main reason was of course was that sftp-server has to be run as root to be able to do the chroot() call? Most of you are against chroot (since it isnt in the src) but I believe a lot of users

getting cygwin to run under wine
Hi! I am trying to run CygWin, the Win32 version of gcc and friends, under wine. Why am I not running gcc directly? It's a long story. Anyway: I installed cygwin OK, but when I go to c:\cygwin\bin and do a 'wine bash.exe', something _seems_ to flash up on the screen and I am notified that Wine exited with a successful status. Is there a way to make bash stick around so that I
